A family-run campsite anchored around its own watersports lake, adrenaline park and wellness centre, riverside Camping Menina sits in Slovenia’s spectacular Upper Savinja Valley. Far removed from busy roads and everyday noise, all the grass pitches are shaded by tall trees, have electric hook-ups and are close to water points. If you’re looking for active holidays with family or friends, this place is absolutely meant for you. Zipwires through the treetops, rafting, kayaking and bellyaking (a kind of cross between kayaking and bodyboarding), canyoning or fishing on the Savinja river, paddleboarding or swimming at the lake, mini golf… Archery sessions, cycling and paragliding… you can try them all either on site or locally in the Upper Savinja Valley. Of course, everyone’ idea of a holiday is different and if your notion of heaven is a good read on the lakeside beach, followed by a cleansing sauna or massage, then that’s all on tap too. As far as catering goes, you have several options. Stay put on your shaded pitch and spark up a barbecue – please only light a campfire on stainless steel plates, which you can borrow from reception – bag a pizza takeaway at the weekend or order regional dishes and Slovenian wines at Menina restaurant, which has views over the lake from its terrace. Hankering after a sweet treat during the day? The kids will be the first to tell you that there’s a pastry shop right next to the playground, where you can pick up a tempting supply of pancakes, strudels and ice creams.

Dicht bij sanitair gebouw,
Prachtige omgeving,
Goed restaurant met vrij divers menu

Disliked Het weer waardoor de bodem erg dressing werd, overigens niet op de kampeer plek zelf want daar lag een grind vlak, dus daar zakte het water netjes weg

Liked Flexible checkin, chance to choose our own pitch, clean pitches with gravel, lots of small birds so no insects at all, very hygiene toilets, rivers, wifi, bike friendly, adrenaline park and on top super friendly staff and owners (Jurij and Katja) who were very helpful always maintaining personal relationship with us and others too. Restaurant was good too.

Disliked Water in the lake looked a bit dirty probably due to winter but I think it will be cleaned when they open it for swimming during spring and summer.

Liked Our little dog loved being able to play in the river here. Facilities at this camp site in a very picturesque setting are great. It is our favourite place to stopover when travelling between Romania and Italy.
