Why choose Camp Eucalyptus? This gorgeous spot is just the job if you’re wanting to get far, far away from the concrete jungle and crowds of people. Privacy, space and peace are nearly guaranteed at this leafy adults-only campsite near Kapele in rural Slovenia.
All accommodations are spaced well out across the seven-acre site, so you won’t be too close to anyone. The entire area of private land is fenced and completely safe – all this wonderful rural countryside, and yet Camp Eucalyptus is only 50 minutes’ drive from the lovely and lively Croatian capital of Zagreb.
Everywhere you look, there are spectacular views, and pretty much the only sound you’ll hear will be the singing of birds. You're free to wander around the grounds at will and discover the wildlife ponds, the secret seating areas tucked into woodland and the orchards. Look out for the beds of organic vegetables and fruit like blackberries and strawberries – you are welcome to pick these for free for everyday use. Near the accommodations, there is also a communal building with a kitchen and shower and toilet facilities.

- Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Local attractions
Grab the walking boots – or the bike – and head for Jovsi Natural Park (five minutes’ drive) for hikes through protected marshland along the Sotla River. While you’re there, keep your eyes open for rare white-tailed eagles and black storks.
Head for Mokrice Castle (20 minutes) to play golf or have a splash around on slides at the swimming pool, while Grad Brežice castle (10 minutes) is open for tours of its brightly frescoed interior and displays of ancestral portraits. Taking the ferry across the Sava River from Mostec leads you to the spa facilities, daredevil water rides and lazy river at Terme Čatež (15 minutes).
Camp Eucalyptus is close to the border with Croatia, so if you fancy a day out in the capital city of Zagreb (50 minutes’ drive) you can expect baroque-era architecture and restaurant-lined streets. Don’t miss the eccentric displays in the Museum of Broken Hearts and do hang around until nightfall to experience some of the city’s legendary nightlife along Tkalčićeva street.
