This campsite has beautiful river/sea views, great for walks. Staff are friendly & facilities clean. Bar serves good food. Some found restrooms dated, noted noise from dogs/planes & bumpy access roads. Cabins weren't recommended due to smells/no kitchen.

Liked We loved this campsite and were very fortunate to have the perfect pitch with a beautiful view.
The beaches were stunning and we enjoyed walking around the ‘river’ beach to the Atlantic coast. The views are beautiful and Spain is just over the river. The river mouth is like a huge lake.
There are walks through a forest to the next village where there are good bars and restaurants by amazing beaches.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were very clean. Good sinks for washing dishes, hand washing and washing machines.
We enjoyed some lovely food in the bar.
My husband’s bike had a puncture and the staff in the bike hire were extremely helpful by going to buy a new inner tube and fixing the puncture.
Before the puncture we cycled along the board walk and cycle track into Caminha about two and a half kilometres away which was lovely as there was a festival. We enjoyed a delicious lunch there too.
We so enjoyed our time there and extended our stay for another few days.

Liked On site restaurant/bar. Staff at restaurant every nice and helpful.

Disliked Toilet/shower block very dated
Large dog barking all night and during the day. Kept in car each night as owner stayed in bungalow and dogs not allowed in bungalows. We and others complained but reception did nothing

Local attractions

Local town Caminha is on the southern side of the Minho estuary, the river that marks the border between Portugal and Spain, and about two kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean. It's a beaut area, made up of the wide mouth of the estuary, pine forests, sandbars, the spectacular sight of the Santa Tecla mountain, and a fine beach set across from a 17th-century fortress. Caminha's rightly popular with holidaymakers from Portugal and Spain; the area also has Moledo (three kilometres) and Vila Praia de Ancora, a pretty place for swimming, fishing, surfing and windsurfing. If you're a strong swimmer, you can set off from the waters of Caminha too, to reach Spain across the estuary's mouth (and if you don't fancy that, car ferries run to Spain from town). Kayaking, sailing and paddleboarding trips all start from Caminha if you're in a watery frame of mind. Another option is the watermills and river setting (and rock festival, remember) of Vilar de Mouros eight kilometres away, or seeing the coastal strongholds of Forte da Lagarteira (8 kilometres) and Forte do Cão (12 kilometres).
