Set up here for a stay in all seasons: family-friendly Camping het Wieskamp, in the Winterswijk National Landscape in the Achterhoek area and two kilometres from the town of Winterswijk, welcomes holidaymakers of all ilks.
Whatever your holiday style, pitching up here will have you within easy access of countryside trails and cycling around the bike-friendly local area, wandering the nearby towns and museums, and visiting local sights including Villa Mondriaan, where the famous De Stijl artist Mondrian grew up.
Set between two streams – the Willinkbeek and the Ratumsebeek – Camping het Wieskamp has nature trails and meadows within its grounds, providing you and the littlies with lots of wildlife spotting and walking options right on site.
Leisure facilities to keep you pleasingly occupied on site include an outdoor pool, an outdoor playground and an indoor soft play area, a football pitch and plenty of smashing grassy space to run around in… And to keep the kids out of trouble during school holidays, the kids’ club has a regular programme of activities and entertainment for small people of all ages.
For food, pick up nibbly eats at the snack bar or something more substantial at Restaurant Antoon, which serves (as you might expect in this part of the world) lots of variations of schnitzel as well as veggie dishes, fish and spare ribs, plus a special kids’ menu. A small shop is on site too for bits like fresh bread.

Local attractions
As one might expect from a Holland-based hol, the Achterhoek is a smashingly bike-friendly area, and Camping het Wieskamp is a good starting point for pedal-powered adventures around the many cycling routes – and hikes – that crisscross the area into the adjacent forest.
You can also spin over to Winterswijk town centre in less than 10 minutes; several more of the Achterhoek's historic towns, such as Bredevoort and Groenlo (both 10 kilometres away) and Bergh (30 kilometres away), are also easily accessible from Camping het Wieskamp via vélo or car.
Shopping aficionados will find lots of good places around Winterswijk to spend some of the holiday kitty too, plus a bi-weekly market lauded as one of the best in the Netherlands. Elsewhere in town, there’s also an indoor go-karting track, gardens and a petting zoo, all of which should keep the kids muchly amused on days out around there.
