Lounge, laze or lean any which way you want at this Tuscany park on the outskirts of Pisa and in the Migliarino - San Rossore - Massaciuccoli natural park. It's only 600 metres to a golden sandy beach and – most relaxing of all – the shuttle bus running in high season will shuttle you and your towel there and back for the bargain price of nothing at all. If you're on your way to any of Tuscany's major cities, Camping St Michael will see you sorted, as its handy location puts not only the attractions of Pisa but also day trips to more far-flung places (Florence and Siena among them) within easy reach. And if you're craving relaxing times between your urban forays, this place should see you sorted on that front too. The park is set on almost three hectares of woodland in a remote wildlife haven, giving you plenty of space to chill out even when you don't fancy the journey to the beach. Aiding that relaxed vibe is easy access to eats at the restaurant-pizzeria and to drinks at the bar (with an outdoor terrace for those heady summer evenings). If you're more of the type that thrives on active times, you'll be chuffed to note the presence of a pool, a pétanque court and a multisports field, along with a playground for the small sorts. Free wifi is available at the bar and pool areas.

Liked: Spontan gebucht. Schattige Stellplätze. Shuttle Bus zum Strand und zur Bushaltestelle .
Nettes Personal.

Disliked: Ich fand die sanitären Anlagen nicht ganz so schön. Die Dusche sah am nächsten Tag noch genauso unsauber aus wie davor.

Liked: Prostorný kemp, zábava pro děti, klid, kemp má svou pláž, vše bylo uklizeno a čisté, každodenní údržba kempu, malý obchůdek s potravinami

Disliked: Kemp v blízkosti vojenského objektu což znamenalo rušení telefonního signálu, zákon platný jen v Itálii - koupání v bazénu pouze ve speciální čepici, kterou nebylo možné koupit v kempu, vyšší taxa za návštěvníky jako například v Caorle či Veroně - platí i pětileté dítě

Liked: The swimming pool is good.
The pich was fully shaded.

Disliked: The hot water was subject to pay, 0,5 EUR is around 3 min.
It is robbery, considering the high price of the camping.
I think that hot shower should be in anclusive service.
We arrived to here from Camping Reno, where the hot water was included, and price was 60% of this.
The swimming pool is 1 EUR/person/4 hours, it was also free in Reno (but that was smaller).
There are two beaches. The closer one is 600m, there is quite frequent shutltle for that, but umbrella rental is 15EUR/day, no personal umbrella is allowed.
The other beatch is 1,5km, that is free, private umbrella can be used, shuttle rare.

Liked: Loved our holiday here. We had a 3 year old and 2 teenagers and all children were entertained and happy.
Staff were very friendly and great at trying to speak English for us!
Swimming pool was lovely and clean.
Evening staff for entertainment were so lovely and made us feel so welcome!
Food very good and great prices too!
We would love to return one day!
Highly recommend.

Disliked: Not much to dislike. WiFi isn’t great but was nice to not have teenagers glued to their phones all holiday!

Liked: Had a really good holiday here. The kids loved it we did too. Pool area nice, toilets clean, bar and restaurant serve lovely food and drinks. Close to Pisa, have a shuttle to their beach. The reception staff were amazing and helpful. The entertainment staff were lovely as were all the others.
Thankyou for an amazing 5 days!

Disliked: Not much to complain about, WiFi signal not great but we didn’t really need it.

Disliked: animation très pauvre et répétitive (chaises musicales, ballons de baudruche à éclater...)
emplacement très poussiéreux
eau chaude payante
accès piscine payant à la demi-journée
aucune connexion internet, wifi du camping ne fonctionne quasiment jamais (connexion à certains sites impossible etc etc): cela est problématique lorsqu'on est en vacances et qu 'on doit organiser les journées.
pas de documents touristiques à l'accueil du camping

Liked: Mainly everthing! The location is perfect for sightseeing. Beach is near and very nice. The bathrooms are clean and tidy. The local shop is small but they have very good coffee.

Disliked: Wifi is just reachable on some points.

Disliked: Staff were mostly rude. They didn't inform us about needing to bring our camping pass cards to the beach and the lifeguard almost called the police on us and he almost had a heart attack due to this. Every day 16:00-23:30 they had some kind of loud kids' show on the stage so if one wanted to sleep earlier, forget it. Also the place is full of ants, we hung up our clothes on a rope to dry, and every piece of clothing had at least 100 of them inside, not to mention the tents. The showers and toilets were always dirty, due to the whole camp being on sand. Wifi was basically non-existent, we were told that "in the community area, there is good wifi" but it didn't work and provided no internet on ANY area of the camping.

Local attractions

The fably wonky Leaning Tower of Pisa, part of the city's cathedral, is about 14 kilometres from Camping St Michael. It's one of the many sights to see in town, where there are also several historic churches and medieval palaces, the bridges across the River Arno and the archaeological museum Cantiere delle Navi di Pisa. The port city of Livorno is also well worth a day trip and is 10 kilometres from base. Elsewhere, take to the countryside and venture out exploring the hills and cuisine of Tuscany, its pleasingly abundant wineries, its 120+ protected nature reserves, its history, its World Heritage Sites... Historic cities including Siena, Florence and Lucca are within a couple of hours' drive, as are lots of pretty villages including Barga, Forsdinavo and San Gimignano. If you've any time left/have been lucky enough to book for a couple of months, make for the seaside resorts of Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi and Versilia, all less than 45 minutes' drive away and amply endowed with sandy beaches, watersports activities and restaurants.

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Extras

A charge of €0.50 ($0.55) applies for the use of the shower.
Camping: access to the swimming pool is not included in the rate and is charged €1.00 ($1.09) per person per sessione.
Motorcycle(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.
