Route directions

For the most comfortable and scenic access to our winery and agriturismo, we recommend exiting the Raccordo Autostradale Firenze–Siena at San Donato. Proceed toward Tavarnelle and Località Morrocco. At the junction, turn right onto the white country road known as Strada del Cerro. This road leads you directly to Clantenova, nestled in the heart of the Chianti hills.

Local attractions

Greve in Chianti and its surroundings: • Visit the charming town of Greve — stroll through its triangular historic piazza (Piazza Matteotti), full of small shops, wine-shops, artisan stores and local food. • Explore nearby medieval villages like Montefioralle (a stone-walled hill-village), or quaint hamlets like Lamole, known for its breathtaking panoramas over the Chianti hills. • Head to the hamlet Panzano in Chianti — a lovely village perched on a hilltop; enjoy local cuisine, stroll through old streets, and maybe catch a wine-festival if timing is right. Wine, Vineyards & Local Flavors : • Use Clantenova itself as a base for vineyard visits — Chianti is full of working wineries and “cantine” where you can taste wines, olive oil, cheeses, local salumi and more. • Go for scenic drives or bike rides along the countryside roads (like the historic “Chiantigiana”), with olive groves, vineyards, cypress-lined hills — ideal for spontaneous photo-stops or leisurely countryside exploration. • Participate in local experiences: cooking classes, traditional Tuscan meals, winery tours, or seasonal events like grape/olive harvests or local food festivals. Castles, Medieval Villages & Historical Sites: • Visit historic wineries and castle-estates like Castello di Brolio — a castle + winery with centuries of history, vineyards, and panoramic views of Chianti hills. • Explore rustic hill-towns and villages typical of Chianti classic — centuries-old stone houses, narrow streets, ancient churches and a timeless atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. Outdoor Activities & Countryside Relaxation : • Go cycling or hiking on the gently rolling hills and country roads — ideal if you want more active exploration beyond tasting and sightseeing. • For a slower pace: enjoy leisurely walks through vineyards and olive groves, absorbing the natural beauty, fresh air, and serene landscape — perfect for relaxation and photography. What Makes Clantenova a Great Base Because Clantenova sits in the heart of Chianti’s typical landscape — vineyards, hills, stone houses, olive groves — it’s ideal for guests who want to: • Spend a few days relaxing without moving much — enjoying the pool, local food/wine, and countryside peace. • Do day-trips to all the charming villages, castles and wineries in Chianti (Greve, Panzano, Brolio …). • Mix wine & food experiences with nature walks, cycling, olive- & grape-harvest seasons, and rustic holidays. • Combine their stay with short trips to bigger cities nearby (e.g. Florence or Siena) while keeping a home-base in calm countryside.
