What a Sardinia stunner – just check out those pics... Sandy stretches, pebbly coves, red rocks jutting from the sea… if you like a beach or three, you’re probably in the right place. Right on the seafront in Tortolì is Campeggio Villaggio Sos Flores, a family-friendly place 20 minutes’ walk from the resort’s shops, restaurants and facilities. Although the sands by the site aren’t a private beach, they’re far enough from the main action to keep them pretty quiet. The calm, shallow waters are safe for the small sorts to splash in, and there are loungers and umbrellas for hire. Those travelling with tiddlers will be chuffed to see a whole heap of activities to keep them busy on site for many an hour. Sporting skills can be honed and/or shown off at the tennis court, football and beach volleyball courts, and seasoned professionals are on hand to guide them in various antics including archery and organised games. Fret not, grownups – there’s provision for you too, with evening shows and daytime fitness classes where you can work off some of that Italian cuisine. Speaking of cuisine, you’ll not have to stray far to get your mitts on some tasty meals, as the site has its own restaurant and a pizzeria that fires up its wood-fired oven of an evening. Two bars and a mini market are also on site if you’re after something a little more low key.

Liked: Staff at reception were friendly

Disliked: Campsite was very disappointing. The touring pitches are not maintained and we found hours to be covered in decaying vegetation and building debris (sharp bits of ceramic tiles).

The decaying vegetation on the ground was a haven for insects

Overall the campsite appeared dated and uncared for.

The bin area is especially dirty with open bins which are a magnet for cats at night.

The "hard standings" are simply areas where the grass appears to have died!

Liked: Lovely reception staff, good pizzas on the campsite restaurant

Disliked: Basic facilities & that’s being kind, no hot water for washing up, antiquated showers whilst being charged top penny. Beach is ok but nothing special

Liked: Wir sind schon 1 Tag eher angereist, alles schön konnten dann 3 Tage später. Stellplatz am Meer ! Sehr schön traumhaft!! Campingplatz ist schon in die Jahre gekommen, schade auch etwas die sanitären Anlagen! Sonst gibt man sich große Mühe, freundlich und hilfsbereit! Kommen gerne wieder!! Dankeschön

Disliked: Nicht so schön sehr späte Animation für Kinder erst ab 21.45 einfach zu spät! Ab 20.00 Uhr wäre optimal! Musik sehr laut überschreit sich !

Liked: Krásný tradiční kemp s atmosférou, kterou máme s rodinou moc rádi. V kempu k dispozici vše co je potřeba, čisto a velmi vstřícný personál. Hodně jsme ocenili systém kartiček, přes které se platilo vše a konečná suma se uhradila až na konci pobytu. Opravdu výborný nápad.

Disliked: Obchůdek v kempu by mohl mít lepší sortiment.

Liked: Loved the location. The friendly campers around the site were so welcoming, as many of them have been going for over 20years, everyone was so friendly. The beach is gorgeous! The sea was SO warm and so clear. We loved snorkelling there. The staff are really helpful and attentive when asked. We had a flat tyre, and they sorted everything for us. The sense of community in the area is just wonderful. Definitely one of our favourite places.

Disliked: It’s ran differently to other places. But once there we could see the benefits. Such as the cars (unless u sleep in them) are kept in a carpark by the site. The benefits are car is in the shade. Plus no cars zooming around, so everyone could wander and bike in safety.

Local attractions

The beach by the site is a fab one, but with lots more to see along this stretch of coast it’s worth relocating at least for a little while. Lido di Orrì, a 10-minute drive south, is famed for its white sands and clear waters – pack a mask and snorkel and you may catch glimpses of some colourful fish as you swim. There’s a good surf area near here too. To the north, the huge red rocks of Arbatax beach are around a 10-minute drive away. From Arbatax harbour you can also hire boats or join trips along coastline to visit the Grotte del Bue Marino and little coves including Cala Mariolu and Cala Sisine. If you can bear to leave the beach behind briefly, there are some highly scenic views to be had with a ride on the Little Green Train as it travels from Arbatax up into the gorgeous Gennargentu mountains.
