Is this the ultimate in Sardinian-based hols? Family-friendly Camping L'Ultima Spiaggia has direct access to a sandy beach with sparkingly clear waters for swimming, windsurfing and hours and hours of snorkelling – and it's is a mighty peaceful environment too, in Ogliastra, the least populated place in all of Italy. Or perhaps you'd prefer to dip your toes on site instead...? That's sorted too: the site has a waterpark with four pools, all connected by waterfalls and one with a whirlpool bath, as well as beach umbrella hire if your toe dipping is more of the placid and intermittent variety. More relaxing can be had at the bar-restaurant (near the pools, how smart), which dishes up tasty Italian food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you're more relaxed sorting your own supper, plenty of ingredients are available at the mini market. Also among Camping L'Ultima Spiaggia's wide range of offerings are a ping pong table, a playground and a sports court near the bar (also smart), and regular activities and entertainment like sports tournaments, a kids' club, disco nights and shows held by the team in high season. The modern facilities include amenities blocks with free hot showers and access for guests with disabilities, washing-up areas and a laundry room.

Liked Prachtige zwembaden omgeven door mooie tuinarchitectuur

Disliked Wij gingen een dag eerder weg en er werd door de camping in Italie toegezegd dat ik dat deel van de betaling retour zou krijgen. Bij vertrek werd echter door de administratie van de camping gezegd dat ik dat via de website van Pitchup moest regelen.
Toen ik - terug in Nederland - hierover met Pitchup contact nam, kreeg ik als antwoord dat ik dat via de camping in Italië moest regelen.
Belachelijk: A zegt "regel het via B" en B zegt "regel het via A" ... triest hoe ik hier als klant wordt bedrogen. En daar betaal je dan bij Pitchup extra kosten ter bemiddeling voor!!!

Local attractions

Ogliastra is the most mountainous area of Sardinia and among the most peaceful province in all of Italian land. The scenery and landscapes here are just splendid and have heaps of scenic outdoorsy stuff to do among them: you could have peaceful strolls wherever you fancy, hike or mountain bike the Gennargentu mountain range to see the spectacular views over Lake Flumendosa, get lost among the olive trees, visit the Ogliastra limestone caves or settle down amid the smashing views from the cliffs. Leave the car behind and take the cutely small tourist train to the lesser known Sardinian destinations like Girasole, Villagrande, Elini, Arzana, Ilbono and Lanusei; Bari Sardo is Camping L'Ultima Spiaggia's nearest town and is about nine kilometres south of the ancient town of Tortolì. Cala Goloritze, Cala Mariolu, Grotta del Fico, Cala Sisine, Cala Luna, Grotte del Bue Marino and many more sandy stretches are in the area if you'd like to investigate Sardinian beaches a bit further.
