This well-maintained site is a 15-minute drive from the city of Lecce and half an hour from Brindisi, and if you’re arriving without any transport, the supremely helpful staff can pick you up from the airport or the local train station — how handy is that? They’ll also rent you a bike if you’d like to pedal your way round the Baroque fantasyland that is Lecce, and boats if you’re aiming straight for the Adriatic or Ionian seas and beaches. Fret not if you’ve forgotten the tin opener or some other vital bit of kit, for there’s a well-stocked camping supplies store on site as well. And as for around the region? Some 18th-century travellers wept in wonder when they first saw Lecce: whether you join them, or you think its swirls and columns and gargoyles are a bit much, you’ll certainly want a look. Take in the eye-bogglingly ornate 16th-century Basilica di Santa Croce, shop for local specialities in the twice-weekly markets held in Lecce since the Middle Ages, and peruse the trove of archaeological treasures in, on top of and under the 12th-century home of the Museo Faggiano. For the essentials, bars, restaurants and supermarkets are five minutes’ drive away. Back at base, barbecues are welcome and there are amenities like hot showers.

Liked Plätze frei wählbar, mit Bäumen parzelliert. Ausreichend groß. Platzbetreiber sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es gibt einen hauseigenen Shuttle, man wird direkt in die Altstadt von Platz aus gefahren. Alles da was man braucht.

Disliked Sanitäre Anlage sollte etwas sauberer sein. Wir waren 2 Nächte dort, leider nicht einmal gereinigt worden.

Disliked Basic amenities that were not good.
Did not like the shower set up which was basically a cubicle with a dangly type fluffy string fly curtain which allowed visibility to others.
Toilet door was challenging to close and there was no light after late evening so one would have to juggle a torch as well as loo roll, the difficult door, etc. No shelves to rest any of the aforementioned items.
Ground flooded after a night's heavy rain.

Nous n'avons pas tester la douche.
Nous avons pu visiter Lecce à vélo en suivant des petites routes indiquées par Google map, 10 kms, très facile.

Disliked Le coin douche sans lumière et un petit rideau en chenille, pas très intime.

If you need a rest after the sensory assault of Lecce, make for the seaside. It’s around half an hour’s drive to resorts like San Cataldo on the Adriatic coast and Sant’Isidoro on the Ionian side, both equally popular with sun worshippers, swimmers, sandcastle builders and those seeking sporting action on the waters. If you’re a history buff, get over to Gallipoli (25 minutes), a virtual island city with ancient Greek origins and a 12th-century castle.
