Private beach on your wishlist? No need to wait for a lottery win… simply book a stay at Centro Turistico San Nicola, a friendly Apulia site 10 minutes’ drive from the pretty seaside town of Peschici. This spacious site sprawls over a huge 130,000 square metres, three quarters of which is covered with native trees (shade on a sunny day = most welcome). There are sea views to be had from lots of corners of the site, but the best of all are on that private beach, whose sands stretch forth for over 350 metres of San Nicola Bay. The shallow waters are fab for smaller swimmers, and the serviced area caters for sunbathers who'd like a bit of added comfort while they settle in for the day. If settling in for the day demands a bit more variety for some members of your party, there’s plenty of that around – facilities include a playground, two tennis courts and a football field. Throughout the summer, add into the mix the activities and entertainment that run all day and into the evenings. And there’s life beyond the park too, of course… the folk on site can help sort days of watersports or other activities including horse riding, boat trips to the Tremiti Islands and jeep safaris in the Gargano National Park. Can’t get enough of those sea views? Continue gazing out at them over drinks/dinner at the restaurant’s beachfront terrace, or pick up snacks from the mini market and remain stubbornly stretched out on your sun lounger until sundown.

Liked The beach is beautiful, swimming perfect. Pitch size good.Though shower outdated & without working lights the space was good and water abundent. Toilets have toilet roll. Years of not cleaning made the facilities cringe worthy. Peaceful in September & shaded. Dog area of beach peaceful. Bar far left of beach serves drinks, not overpriced and staff very friendly. Food selection not great but ok. Fellow campers peaceful & pleasant. WiFi in bar.

Disliked Being charged a ridiculous amount for a pitch in trees at a price that according to the website should have been the pitches on the beach. The facilities are extremely outdated, dirty (3 nights & poo splattered toilet not cleaned plus pile of bird poo by ladies wash basin still there). No soap in washroom.Having to hike a very long distance to the dog area of beach far right (poor dog paws) & then pay again for seating. No water or waste on pitch. Broken glass & plastic on pitch. We did resolve this as we showed Pitch up email & online bank details. Paid through pitch up then spent an age with cashier who said we hadn't paid. This is a very overpriced site but the location is beautiful & it's relaxing if your'e self sufficient. Time to take that profit & improve the facilities!! Previous comments about ants were helpful so we went armed with ant powder & it worked perfectly. No mobile coverage.

Liked Ci è piaciuta la posizione che abbiamo scelto del camper in prima fila ...la vista mare e l accesso alla spiaggia non ha paragoni ...il mare è incantevole a tutte le ore del giorno ...sempre limpido e pulito ..mai vista un alga ...la spiaggia pulita ..
La pizza del pizzaiolo Antonio ... fantastica...

Disliked Piazzola piena di formiche ..senza acqua in piazzola per carico del camper .. la spiaggia per i cani non ha acqua per il risciacquo del animale dopo il bagno ... L animazione del centro non è entusiasmante ...ci mettono l impegno ma c'è molto da lavorare... Il market non è sempre fornito ... Il bancomat non è collegato ...
WIFI a pagamento con copertura bassa.... Il prezzo è un po' esagerato per quello che offrono

Local attractions

The sea views on site are pretty fab, but those around the Tremiti Islands… well, they’re stunning. Board a boat trip from Peschici (10 minutes’ drive) to get to the gorgeous archipelago for hikes, hidden beaches and sea caves galore – sign up for scuba diving or snorkelling trips if you want to poke around underwater. The mainland coast’s got plenty of attractions too: start with a potter around Peschici’s pretty streets and medieval castle, or venture over to Vieste (half an hour) for a cliffside Old Town, a baroque cathedral and a museum filled with fossils and shells. Sea caves are plentiful along this stretch of coast too – board boat trips from the harbour or hire canoes to paddle along under your own steam. And while the coast’s obviously splendid, it’s worth turning your sights inland too, for walks in the Gargano National Park (don’t miss the Umbra forest, 40 minutes’ drive away) or romantic strolls in pretty Vico del Gargano (aka the Village of Love, half an hour away).
