- Cosy restored 1960s caravan in a large garden with sea views
- A 10-minute drive to Polignano a Mare; 30 minutes to Alberobello
- Holistic treatments, giant swings and barbecues available on site
‘Comfortable but wild’ is how the folk at Bibiland describe their glamping setup – quite the enticing prospect to tempt you to this lovely Apulia glamping spot half an hour’s drive from Bari.
Stays here are in a cosy refurbished 1960s caravan that’s parked up in a large private garden with views out to sea. The ‘comfortable’ part includes the French bed inside the caravan (with bedding provided), and the selection of outdoor seating and loungers scattered around the garden so you can relax and take in the views (or have a quiet afternoon snooze in the sun).
The ‘wild’ side of things means you can indulge your slightly more intrepid side with an outdoor compost toilet and a cold open-air shower (although there is also an indoor hot shower if you’re feeling less brave). The setting also really lends itself to letting you reconnect with nature – but please note that there’s no public transport to this rural retreat so you’ll need your own vehicle.
It’s all about slowing down and appreciating your surroundings here, and the hosts have made sure there are plenty of ways to do that. You can book in for holistic treatments for a small additional fee, or ask the site to prepare you a barbecue with salads and grilled meat or fish.
Rather take a bit of quiet ‘me time’? Pick up supplies in Polignano a Mare (10 minutes’ drive) to cook up on the barbecue back at base, or take yourself off to the giant swing to soak up the scenery.

Local attractions
It’s a real treat to be able to see the sea from the site, of course – but no doubt you’ll want to get out and have a closer look too. There’s a gorgeous beach at Cozze (10 minutes’ drive), with free public sections as well as serviced areas, and you’ll also need to plan some time strolling around Polignano a Mare (also 10 minutes), losing yourself in the historic streets before taking a dip at the pebble beach.
Heading inland instead, you might like to take a 10-minute drive to Conversano, a pretty town with a castle and archaeology museum, or travel a little further (half an hour's drive) to explore Alberobello, named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unusual conical whitewashed trullo houses.
Other days out might take you over to the medieval streets and colourful harbour of Monopoli (20 minutes), to the ‘white city’ of Ostuni (45 minutes) or to Matera (an hour and 10 minutes), a city with a history dating back 9000 years.
