A thoroughly rural site, but one that’s in a handy spot for outings to Turin, Genoa and Milan – Agricampeggio Elilu Soul Farm is in an excellent location for guests who want to mix up countryside and city activities during their stay in north-western Italy. The three cities mentioned are all within an hour and a half’s drive (Milan being the closest at an hour away), but the site is in the middle of a true agricultural area in eastern Piedmont, a 10-minute drive from the town of Castelnuovo Scrivia. It’s part of an organic farm, and it makes a particularly good option if you’re travelling as a family – it’s got friendly animals for the kids to pet and organises child-friendly activities like stargazing nights at its planetarium (by reservation). There are activities for the grown-ups, too, such as organised excursions to nearby artistic towns (Tortona, for example) and nature spots like Torrente Scrivia (35 minutes’ drive), a popular birdwatching spot. Another advantage of staying here is that the site feels cosy and intimate, with guest numbers always kept low to ensure plenty of space and peace for all guests. The farm grows and makes most of what it serves at the on-site restaurant (fruit and vegetables, jams, dairy products and baked goods, plus eggs and cured meats). Note that the restaurant is open for Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch only, but if you happen to be here during the week, you can still sample the farm’s home-grown products by buying some for your picnics or to take home with you. As this is a farm site, please remember that the facilities are basic, although they are cleaned once daily.

Liked Stroom en water.

Disliked Dat er helemaal niemand was om ons te ontvangen.
Ik werd vooraf niet per mail op de hoogte gebracht dat alles doordeweeks dicht was?? Dus het restaurant was gesloten, er was geen beweging op de camping helemaal niets. Pas de volgende dag zag ik iemand de dieren verzorgen.

Disliked Not easily accessible. Too close to motorway. Lots of mosquitoes due to presence of animals.

Liked De plek. We waren op doortocht dus voor 1 nacht perfect.
Het is er heel relax. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Dichtbij zijn er eetgelegenheden.

Disliked De douches. Helaas kan je er niets ophangen. Het is echt een douchecabine. Voor ons prima, maar dat kan beter.
Wij droogde ons af in de ruimte ervoor ( daar kan iedereen zo binnen lopen.)

Liked Accueil 24/24, assez facile d'accès, bien suivre les indications GPS ;gentillesse, amabilité, dévouement de notre hôte qui nous a rendu service pour bien des choses. L'équipement est simple mais fonctionne bien; douche, lavabos avec eau chaude, toilettes avec papier hygiénique, congélateur, borne électrique avec point d'eau, espace campeur assez spacieux mais pas délimité. Produits de la ferme en vente.

Liked Location was strategic for our Roadtrip. Water & electricity were available right next to the pitch. It was very quit.

Lavender next to the pitch to keep mosquito’s away.

Disliked The sanitary facilities are quite under par. Didn’t meet our most basic standards.

We had to figure out everything by ourselves. We haven’t seen anybody from the farm itself. Not a great problem, everything worked out fine.

Truth be told, I did miss the Soul at this Farm. 🤞🏽

If you’re in the market for city outings, start in Milan (an hour’s drive) – it’s a very elegant place that’s home to the Gothic Duomo, the famed La Scala theatre, Castello Sforzesco and Santa Maria delle Grazie, which houses Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Last Supper’. Genoa (just over an hour) and Turin (an hour and 20 minutes) could also be on your schedule , but you may prefer to turn your attentions to smaller places like Tortona (15 minutes), a small hilltop town with a castle and a maritime museum as well as several wineries nearby to visit. If you’ve got the kids with you, there are some good options for days out nearby, including the chance to see rodeos and ride in wagons at Cowboyland theme park (20 minutes) or zoom down waterslides, swim in the pools and play beach football at Onda Splash waterpark (35 minutes).
