Frazzled folks in need of a rural retreat, set a course for L'Arca di Noe - Agricamp, up in the hills of Polinago an hour’s drive south of Modena. From this properly peaceful family-run spot you can dial the pace of life down a notch or few, filling your days with scenic countryside bike rides, riverside rambles and horse riding, all the while filling your lungs with fably fresh air. This is a particularly popular place for families, who flock here to meet the farm’s animals, play games of table tennis, table football and board games in the covered recreation area, and catch up over meals cooked on the communal barbecues and served up on the site’s picnic tables. And what fab feasts you can create here, with the on-site shop selling seasonal produce. Extra partner points may be on offer too for those who purchase flowers from the shop to treat their other half (and generally add a bit of colour to your living quarters)…

Liked L’accueil de Monsieur et la qualité de son français.
La propreté des lieux, les espaces de vie à disposition.
La confiance accordé au campeur qui note sur un carnet lui même ce qu’il consomme (sucreries, boissons..) pour régler plus tard.
La disponibilité du café, du savon, du papier toilette.
La cuisine avec plaque, four micro ondes, frigo à disposition.
Les lapins en liberté dans un joli cadre.
La grandeur des espaces de vie.

Disliked Un peu trop isolé à notre goût et donc peu pratique pour se restaurer. Penser à faire ses courses bien avant.

Liked Lovely small site, in beautiful location. Very clean and friendly owner. Excellent showers, and lots of attention to detail for those extra things that you may need such as a communal kitchen

Disliked The drive there was stunning however our satnav even though set to a lorry setting, took us down a very steep narrow access road which was unsuitable for our Motorhome (7.5m length)

Liked Sehr freundliche Inhaberin. Tolle, ruhige Gegend. So richtig zum Entspannen. Wir werden den Platz auf jedenfalls wieder anfahren. Aber dann, anstatt für eine Nacht, über mehrere Tage. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

Liked Really nice small family run spot. Beautiful location. The drive up was stunning. Very spacious camping spots for tents, especially by European standards. Very quiet. The club house is really cool. Lots of games/foosball tables/on your honor beer and wine bar. Huge covered patio with picnic tables. Really excellent showers. Super friendly and helpful host. Club house made it really easy to meet other people who were camping there. Probably had more friendly conversations with more people here than at any other spot we stayed in our 6 weeks in Europe this summer.

Local attractions

Bring along a bike and/or your hiking boots to hit the trails through the wooded hills that surround the site: make for the neighbouring hamlets Talbignano and Gombola (both less than an hour’s hike) to see traditional churches and houses, and maybe pick up snacks from little local bakeries along the way…? Another popular hike nearby is from Brandola (20 minutes’ drive away) up to Devil's Bridge, a natural monolith in Lama Mocogno 842 metres above sea level. If all this nature gets a bit too much, take a trip to Maranello, 40 minutes away, to visit the Ferrari Museum and drool over some of the famed cars and learn about the history of Italian motor racing. Or go a little further to Modena, an hour away, to visit the cathedral and museums, as well as maybe sampling a little of the balsamic vinegar that the city’s renowned for.
