  • Short drive or bike ride to the town of Roseto degli Abruzzi
  • Restaurant serving local cuisine, pool, big solarium and playground
Did someone say 'private Mediterranean beach'? If these are words that make your ears perk up like a dog hearing 'walkies', Roseto Easy Camping Village in Italy's Abruzzo region will be up your sandy street. The small secluded beach of Roseto is reserved for site guests only, for swimming, sunbathing or perhaps sneaking out of camp before dawn to see the sun rising above the clear waters. It's part of a spectacular stretch of Adriatic Sea coastline in the province of Terama, within 10 minutes' drive or easy cycling distance of Roseto degli Abruzzi. The Roseto team cheerfully maintains that seafood, wine and heaps of carbs make a proper Mediterranean hol (this is not the time to consider or lament a growing waistline). These can all be sorted via the varied menu at the site restaurant, where you can sup on local wines to accompany regional dishes like Adriatic fish sushi and arrosticini mutton. The mini market is crammed with local goods, breads and cheeses for hungry times in between. Overindulged? Firstly, well done; secondly, fret not, as an outdoor fitness circuit is on site to aid your activity. You can also hire bikes, charge around the five a side football pitch, or hit a ball around at tennis, pétanque or ping pong while the kids let off steam in the well-equipped playground. And then? Totter over to the pool and big sun terrace for a plunge followed by a bask on the free loungers. Regular lively evening vents run in high season too – perhaps after another meal at the restaurant... A kids' club, activities for teens and – if you seek yet more carb blasting – sports tournaments run in high season too.

What customers say

Pitches vary; some uneven/muddy, others spacious/shaded. Staff friendly, though check-in could be smoother. Bathrooms get mixed reviews: clean for some, but others cite issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and design (shower/toilet combos). Wi-Fi is weak. Some guests report dog noise/mess. Restaurant and market also need improvement.

Liked staff gentilissimo e disponibile, prezzi onesti, posizione ottima, buoni i servizi, piazzole ombreggiate

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked The staff driving the electric carts were very helpful and friendly. They were one of the strongest positive aspects of our stay and helped improve the overall impression.
There are plenty of drinking-water points distributed around the campsite, which is very convenient.
The pitches are generally well maintained, although many are quite tight. There are also a few larger pitches available.
The campsite has some facilities for children, including a small playground and a bouncy castle, tennis court.

Disliked Reception and arrival:
The reception staff were not particularly welcoming, and the information provided at check-in was rather brief and routine.

Arrival and access to the pitch:
We arrived after a long journey with a reservation, expecting to be able to access our allocated pitch without any difficulties. Unfortunately, the pitch had a very narrow entrance with a tree directly in the middle of the entrance, which made positioning our caravan particularly difficult and stressful. At the same time, the neighbouring pitch, which did not have this problem, was assigned to a small tent that was being set up just as we arrived. We found this frustrating, as the neighbouring pitch would have been much easier to access with a caravan. Overall, the arrival process felt somewhat poorly organised and caused unnecessary stress after a long journey.

The day we were leaving our pitch:

On the day we were due to leave our pitch, a family arrived at our campsite — apparently the next campers who were going to stay on the same pitch. They arrived a few hours before their access time and our scheduled departure time, and started walking around our pitch among our belongings, while measuring out on the ground where they intended to put their tents and other things.

They were also making loud comments about the fact that we were still there. As a result, we felt extremely uncomfortable while packing up our belongings under their pressure and presence.

I really do not understand how the reception could have allowed this to happen. (Were the arriving guests properly informed about the campsite rules and the official arrival and departure times?)

We found this situation very unpleasant and intrusive. We believe that guests should be allowed to enjoy their booked pitch until the agreed departure time, without being pressured by the next guests who arrive several hours too early.

Sanitary facilities:
The toilet and shower facilities located next to the pitches came as an unpleasant surprise. The combination of a toilet and a shower in the same small space felt particularly uncomfortable and unhygienic. Having the shower directly in the toilet area also makes the facility more difficult to keep clean and maintain in good hygienic condition.

Restaurant: We were told to wait around 1.5 hours for a takeaway Margherita pizza, which felt excessively long for such a simple order. We also had the impression that takeaway orders were given lower priority than guests dining in the restaurant.

Breakfast:
There were no pancakes, croissants or fresh pastries available. The choice was quite limited, although it was possible to order a hot dish with ham and cheese from the restaurant.

Children's playground:
The facilities for children felt rather modest, with just a few attractions aimed mainly at children up to around five years old, plus a bouncy castle located in full sun. In comparison, the campsite appeared to offer a considerably more developed, shaded and attractive area for dogs.

Beach facilities and club membership:
Being a club member does not provide access to the beach loungers. The loungers are located on the beach and require an additional payment at the campsite reception. We feel this could have been communicated more clearly during "brief" check-in.

Electrical facilities:
Unfortunately, not all of the electrical sockets in the pitch connection boxes were working. This was inconvenient and something we would expect to be checked and maintained before guests arrive.

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Si, complessivamente. Personale gentile, piazzola spaziosa.

Disliked Piazzola in pieno sole. Docce e wc in unico ambiente. Acqua calda a sorte.
