What customers say

This peaceful, nature-focused campsite has limited, private spots. Guests love the friendly, helpful owners & campfires (wood often provided). It's dog-friendly & rustic (dry toilets, no showers). Watch for fruit trees, ants, beehives. Steep access road is tough for solo travelers.

Liked We like the limited sites. It offers privacy and the ability to connect with nature. We like the owners and their personal touches and check ins. They offer a fire pit which is something we desperately miss and love to enjoy during camping. We like that they allow well behaved dogs and that their rustic toilet set up keeps their clientele fairly rustic too.

Disliked Not necessarily a dislike but something to note when choosing your campsite is that there are many fruit trees in the pasture. Naturally these attract ants and beehives nearby and in the ground. We had no trouble with either, just watch where you step between those and the horse droppings (did not smell). It's nature and we are in their space. :)

Liked Werd zeer vriendelijk onthaald. Camping was rustig.

Liked Sehr uriger Platz. Auf einer bikepacking Tour im Zelt übernachtet. Betreiber unwahrscheinlich freundlich. Hat mir noch Feuerholz zur Verfügung gestellt und mich mit Trinkwasser versorgt. Gerne wieder

Liked Sehr naturnah, netter Kontakt.
Ganz wichtig für alle die es nicht so naturnah mögen: Es gibt lediglich eine Trockentoilette, keine Dusche etc. Es ist also sehr ursprünglich. Wir mögen es aber und daher hat es uns auch sehr gut gefallen.

Liked Very nice and friendly folk! They helped us unstick our vehicle from the mud (twice even!). Pretty good location. Extremely quiet. Has horses. And very importantly: They let you build a campfire. They even provided wood and came by a few times to check on us and our fire. We didn't have time to check it out, but it seems there's a nice forest to walk through nearby too.

Local attractions

The nearby town of Bitburg (15 minutes' drive) is something of a hub for visitors to this part of Rhineland-Palatinate. Home to brewery tours, a big leisure centre and pool with waterslides as well as the ever-popular Eifelpark, a wildlife and amusement park with fairground rides and cute critters, there's bound to be something here to pique your interest. For a bigger city, Trier (35 minutes) is a great place to start. Widely considered the oldest city in Germany, it has a stunning cathedral to admire, as well as Roman ruins and great views over the Moselle river. Koblenz (an hour and 10 minutes) is also well worth visiting for rides on its cable car and tours of the Gothic Revival Stolzenfels Castle. For outdoor exploration and nature-based days out, spots like the Irrel waterfalls (20 minutes), a scenic location in the middle of a forest, are likely to be on the cards. A short distance from the falls are the Teufelsschlucht (or 'Devil's Canyons'), a dramatic gorge formed at the end of the last ice age, while across the border in Luxembourg the trails around Mullerthal (40 minutes) – known affectionately as Luxembourg’s answer to Switzerland due to its scenery – draw walkers from far and wide.
