For stays of all sorts, settle down at this lushly leafy spot among the Lahn valley in Wetzlar. It's a good spot for cycling, canoeing and promenading along the banks of the Lahn river towards Wetzlar’s historic Old Town, a 15-minute walk from the site, and fishing is available on site with the appropriate paper German fishing license. Campingplatz Wetzlar is a family-friendly park with lots to do: there's plenty of room for rambles (and dog walks) around the grounds, and canoe and kayak tours and fishing are available to guests (you can book both at reception and there’s a boat slip station nearby). Several waymarked walking and cycling trails along the Lahn and elsewhere are also within easy reach. Foodwise, for quick and easy morning meals a daily breakfast and bread delivery service runs on site, and you can order packed lunches for dining on days out. Tea, coffee and cake are also available to take away. If you’re a fan of flaming your food on a firepit or barbecue, then you’re well sorted here: grills are available to borrow and you can buy firewood on site, plus several picnic tables dot the grassy areas too. And if ever you suffer a fateful food spill, fear not – the site also has a handy laundry and dry cleaning service. Amenities off site and nearby include a sports centre and a restaurant with a beer garden (both right next door), plus a supermarket and a car wash a few minutes’ walk away.

Liked: Piazzola molto ampia- Personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Campeggio pulito e tranquillo- Servizi igenici sufficienti (mai fatto coda!) e puliti. Ottima sistemazione per chi ama le passeggiate e la bicicletta.

Disliked: piccolo inconveniente alla partenza - dopo una notte di pioggia il camper si è infossato nel prato non perfettamente piano. Problema comunque risolto.

Liked: Schöner kleiner, ruhiger Campingplatz direkt an einer Einstiegsstelle zur Lahn. Hatte viel Spaß mit dem SUP auf der Lahn. Nettes griechisches Restaurant direkt am Camping-Platz mit Biergarten. Sehr freundliche Betreiber des CP.

Disliked: Leider funktionierte das WLAN wegen eines aktuellen Defektes in den 4 Tagen meines Aufenthaltes nicht und ich musste über mein mobiles Datenvolumen arbeiten. Sanitäre Einrichtungen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber sauber.

Liked: The people are friendly and the Greek restaurant next door is excellent. Facilities were clean and tidy.

Disliked: Spaces are very small 10m x 5m with no space or little space in between, was very busy and cramped. This site is in a built up town area and next to a busy main road. No fishing on site as we thought there was.

Ihr Wohnwagen hat eine Überlänge + Vorzelt + Auto ist das natürlich sehr eng . Ich habe mehrmals ihren Mann gefragt ob alles okay ist was er auch bestätigte . Ich befürchte Sie möchten einfach nur Geld zurück .

Local attractions

The park’s locale between Lahnstein and Dehrn along the banks of the Lahn river means there are lots of activity options on water, such as canoeing/kayaking and fishing. By land, plenty of cycle routes are close by for days of pedalling. While you’re here, it's of course highly recommended that you have a wander into the site’s local town of Wetzlar and explore its historic and well-preserved Old Town (Altstadt), dotted with historic plazas, a 13th-century cathedral, several museums and handsome half-timbered houses. Also worth a trip out to for stacks more sightseeing are little cathedral cities of Limburg an der Lahn and Weilburg, both within 40 minutes’ drive of Wetzlar.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
