For stays of all sorts, settle down at this lushly leafy spot among the Lahn valley in Wetzlar. It's a good spot for cycling, canoeing and promenading along the banks of the Lahn river towards Wetzlar’s historic Old Town, a 15-minute walk from the site, and fishing is available on site with the appropriate paper German fishing license. Campingplatz Wetzlar is a family-friendly park with lots to do: there's plenty of room for rambles (and dog walks) around the grounds, and canoe and kayak tours and fishing are available to guests (you can book both at reception and there’s a boat slip station nearby). Several waymarked walking and cycling trails along the Lahn and elsewhere are also within easy reach. Foodwise, for quick and easy morning meals a daily breakfast and bread delivery service runs on site, and you can order packed lunches for dining on days out. Tea, coffee and cake are also available to take away. If you’re a fan of flaming your food on a firepit or barbecue, then you’re well sorted here: grills are available to borrow and you can buy firewood on site, plus several picnic tables dot the grassy areas too. And if ever you suffer a fateful food spill, fear not – the site also has a handy laundry and dry cleaning service. Amenities off site and nearby include a sports centre and a restaurant with a beer garden (both right next door), plus a supermarket and a car wash a few minutes’ walk away.

Disliked sehr unflexibel, Achtung, Autos dürfen nicht auf dem Platz stehen bleiben!
Wir wollten überlegen ob wir den Platz nehmen und das Auto "außerhalb" parken, aber man musste sich gleich entscheiden und es gab keinerlei Verständnis, dass uns das zu gefährlich war, uns wurde auch keinerlei Hilfe beim Umdrehen, oder zu sonstigen Sachen angeboten, leider konnten wir auch nicht die Toiletten oder Wasseranschlüsse... etc benutzen, obwohl wir den vollen Preis für eine Nacht (4 Personen) bezahlt haben... die erste Aussage war: das Geld gibt es aber nicht zurück !
Sehr traurig und sehr schlechter Service!

From the manager: Hallo Sven, das ist richtig die "AUTOS" parken in unmittelbarer Nähe und nicht auf den Grünflächen, so steht es auch in der Buchung und da gibt es auch nichts zu überlegen -das ist eine Regel. Die Gründe dafür haben wir Dir erklärt u.a. das deine gewünschte Abreise in den frühen Morgenstunden unerwünscht. Da nehmen wir Rücksicht auf die Platznachbarn die nicht erfreut sind wenn früh morgens der Anhänger angehängt wird, Stützen hochgekurbelt und Autotüren geknallt werden. Für einen Campervan und ein Wohnwagen und 4 Personen hätten 2 Plätze gebucht werden müssen. Dein Zugfahrzeug ist ein Campervan und kein Auto.
Niemand hat dir den Zutritt zum Sanitär verwehrt ganz im Gegenteil- die Türen standen sogar offen.
Da Du ein Campervan mit einem 9 m langen Wohnwagen fährst war es nicht einfach in der Hauptanreisezeit (vor Ostern) in der Zufahrt zu drehen. Du musstest 2 Min warten weil gerade die Einfahrt belegt war.
Wenn Du einen Platz an reservierst und dann nicht anreist oder Absagst bzw. stornierst wird kein Geld zurück bezahlt. Der Platz stand leer und andere Gäste hätten Ihn gerne vorab gebucht über Ostern. Das ist auf jedem Campingplatz so- die Stornobedingungen hast Du bei der Buchung akzeptiert.

Tolle Platz mit sehr sauberen Sanitäranlagen, freundlichem Personal .

Local attractions

The park’s locale between Lahnstein and Dehrn along the banks of the Lahn river means there are lots of activity options on water, such as canoeing/kayaking and fishing. By land, plenty of cycle routes are close by for days of pedalling. While you’re here, it's of course highly recommended that you have a wander into the site’s local town of Wetzlar and explore its historic and well-preserved Old Town (Altstadt), dotted with historic plazas, a 13th-century cathedral, several museums and handsome half-timbered houses. Also worth a trip out to for stacks more sightseeing are little cathedral cities of Limburg an der Lahn and Weilburg, both within 40 minutes’ drive of Wetzlar.
