Take your pick from peaceful or active at See Camping Günztal, set on a secluded lake in Bavarian-Swabia in an area filled with theme parks, castles, museums and caves – and with a right good stash of activities on site for all sizes too. Among the active options here are swimming areas suited to families with tiddlers, a volleyball court, pétanque, table tennis and bike and pedal go kart hire to speed things up a tad. Golf, surfing and an indoor pool are all available locally. Prefer a more placid vibe? See Camping Günztal has a bistro and beer garden serving dinners, breakfasts and substantial snacks, board games and books to borrow, and a kiosk selling boozy and non-boozy drinks as well as food for peaceful evenings pitchside. (Order fresh bread for the next morning at the kiosk too.) Alongside its spacious pitches, the site has modern facilities including standard and large showers, floor heating, solar heating, gas condensing boilers, water saving and pressure fittings, a bath for kids and a roomy shower room for disabled guests. Other amenities include a laundry room with a washing machine, dryer and basin for hand washing and dishwashing, an outdoor sink and shower and a dog wash area. A motorhome dump station and a sink for chemical toilets are available free of charge.

Liked Being near a like was brilliant as were the Bicycle rides. The Toilets were really good, clean and warm. Staff were friendly.

Disliked There was a very small bar and restaurant with limited menu. There wasn't a local bus stop / supermarket or village near by so if you hadn't brought any food you would have a limited choice of food. First impression of the site was not good as there were a lot of static caravans around which had obviously had been there for some years making it look like a gypsy encampment.

Liked Very clean, friendly quiet and calm. Nice play area.

Disliked The bistro was very basic with a lot of deep fried food. The convenience store was very very basic

Liked Loved the lake! Facilities were REALLY clean.

Disliked The on site cafe was a little short on options. You have to remember to either leave your car outside the gate or have to wait for certain times for it to open.

Liked Waren kurzfristig im Juni eine Woche am Campingplatz. Wurden sehr Freundlich empfangen. Schöner gepflegter Platz mit schönem See und Ebenen Stellplätzen. WC Anlagen sehr gepflegt. Das Angebot im Kiosk war ebenfalls ok. Werden auf jeden Fall wieder hin fahren.

Disliked Das WLAN ist im hinteren Bereich leider schlecht.

Liked The lake looked lovely and the facilities were very clean and modern

Disliked The site was nothing like the lovely pictures online. Don’t be fooled.

The separate motorhome area doesn’t exist so we were in the middle of a very tight row of other vehicles with a 9.5m tag axle vehicle. The bistro was not a bistro but a room on-site with a few tables and the site organisation for arrival was poor( people pushing to the front to check in, ignoring the que system that was in place). The lady who checked us in was nice but that was the end to the pleasantries on site.
Water fill up and electric on pitch was fine, as was the water drop waste and toilet chemical point.
In summary, don’t believe the pictures or description of grass and gravel pitches. The pitches are poorly maintained with no definition between them.
If you want a quick stop over and you don’t intend to spend time outside your van, this site is fine. Otherwise, don’t bother.

Liked The main facilities were brilliant . It even had a dishwasher . The owners weee friendly and helpful . Loved that you could order fresh bread for the morning

Other rainy day and indoor/underground options are the many museums around Bavarian Swabia and Bavaria, or a day down deep at the Adventure Cave World in Giengen-Hürben, which houses the famed Charlottenhöhle/ Charlotte’s Cave, one of the longest accessible caves in southern Germany.
