Le Champ du Moulin is a peaceful wooded site in the middle of the Écrins National Park, at the foot of the Barre des Écrins mountain and adjacent to the Vénéon river.
The site lies among the challenging hiking and mountain biking trails of the Oisans mountains in the small village of Vénosc, which is connected by a gondola lift to Les Deux Alpes ski resort, and is surrounded by the tiny hamlets and historic villages of the Vénéon valley.
At the site you'll find an outdoor pool with a waterslide, a playground, a games room, a library and pétanque and tennis courts. There's also a takeaway, a café and a shop where you can buy groceries and local produce; freshly baked bread is sold there every morning too.
Among the amenities are an accessible toilet and shower block and a launderette with washing machines and tumble dryers. A wifi service is available to guests.
Hikes to Lauvitel lake lake go direct from the site, and you've also got the Muzelle waterfall a little under a kilometre away. Mountain biking is very popular in the Osains region, with a diverse mix of steep, fast and technical trails that weave along ravines and through dense forests, meadows and glaciers.
There are buses from Grenoble to Bourg-d'Oisans and Les Deux Alpes all year round, and in summer there's a bus line that runs from Grenoble via Bourg-d'Oisans to Vénosc, continuing through Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans and terminating in La Bérarde, so there are plenty of options for getting out to the area's towns and villages too.
