It's free, quick and easy!
- Family-run rural site under 10 minutes' drive from Bourg d’Oisans
- Close to Tour de France stages and voie verte cycle paths
- Gas barbecue, bread service and bike storage available on site
Breathe in… and out. Mountain air, spectacular scenery and little details like fresh daily bread make Ferme Noemie an all-round smashing spot for Alpine family hols. It’s all about the peaceful times here: guest numbers are kept on the low side to give you all the space you need to relax.
It's a hub for active pursuits too, particularly on the bike front: cyclists can avail themselves of Ferme Noemie's handy cycle storage and free e-bike charging, and several of the Tour de France's legendary mountain passes (including Le Galibier, La Croix de Fer and Le Glandon) are within striking distance. For fairweather cyclists and walkers, the nearby voie verte has plenty of equally pretty spots that are a tad easier on the knees. There’s a stack of maps, guides and tourist info at reception, and the friendly hosts are always happy to offer up ideas and recommendations.
Facilities on site have been kept on the simple side: there’s no pool, restaurant or noisy entertainment (although you may occasionally hear a bray or two from resident donkey Myrtille). The site’s bakery service can sort fresh bread and pastries to be delivered of a morning for breakfast before you tackle the mountains. For post-activity sizzles, a gas barbecue is available, along with a picnic area for alfresco dining. If you need to stock up on essentials, there are shops on hand 10 minutes down the road in Bourg d’Oisans.

Local attractions
Bourg d'Oisans (10 minutes' drive) is the gateway to many routes on the Tour de France, and bikes can be hired here. If you don't win any kind of medals for your efforts, head to the town's Mineral Museum (10 minutes) to see glittery stuff that's been dug up locally.
If you fancy a dip, Allemond (10 minutes) has a fab open-air pool and lake for watersports. If you seek lakeside vistas but don't fancy your chances in chilly mountain waters, the Hydroelectricity Museum (10 minutes) or Lac Besson (40 minutes) may be for you.
There's plenty of history around these parts too: traces of a Roman road can still be seen in Bourg d'Oisans, but for more sizeable monuments head to Brandes Archaeological Site, a medieval village high in the peaks. For more old-world monuments, head to the Château de Bon Repos (45 minutes).
Kid-pleasing times are to be had at Alté Chamrousse adventure park (45 minutes). Meanwhile, sophisticated city slickers can stroll through the galleries, museums and fortresses of Grenoble (an hour away by road), or take in the views from the city's cable car.
