Camping Les Charmilles

There's absolutely loads to do among mountain, countryside and water around here, whether you want to stay close to site or drive a short distance elsewhere. A fishing river is 500 metres away. You can also fish for carp, pike and rainbow trout in the Chéran river at Rumilly, ten minutes away, or go canyoning or kayaking on the waters here or at the nearby river of Fier. France's third biggest lake, Annecy, is within 30 minutes' drive, as are the huge glacial waters of Bourget lake at the famed spa town of Aix-les-Bains. From Aix-les-Bains, it's about ten kilometres south to the Savoie capital of Chambéry, with thirteenth century Château de Chambéry and the famed Elephants Fountain. For cyclists, over 250 kilometres of marked trails are around for all levels; the nearby cycling school arranges trips all year round supervised by experienced instructors. Mountain biking and horse riding are also available nearby. Finally, the Camping Les Charmilles team particularly recommends a trip to the winter sports and skiing destination of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps at 4,808 metres.
