It's free, quick and easy!
- Quiet and shaded site bordered by a river
- Family-friendly with activities in French and English in the summer
- Pool, paddling pool, play area, bar and shop
You'll likely foresee good times for you and the offspring at Camping Nostradamus. Set near Salon-de-Provence where prediction dude Nostradamus lived and was buried, this peaceful, scenic and family-friendly place has plenty to do on site, easy access to many main attractions of the Provence and an amiable vibe from its relaxed family team.
Nostradamus (site, not prediction dude) was set up in 1962 within the enclosure of an ancient Bouches-du-Rhône farm, on countryside land filled with trees and greenery and bordered by a river for dips under southern France sun. (Adults only recommended, s'il vous plait, as the river is unsupervised.)
A pool, paddling pool, play area and TV room are all on site to keep you occupied, or you could toddle along to the daytime activities held in July and August, such as beach volleyball, water polo, miniature golf, pétanque tournaments and a kids' club for ages four and up. Family events in English and French run in the evenings.
Nibbles and drinks are sorted at the bar and takeaway, and at the small shop selling bread, pastries, ice cream and cold drinks. Homemade wood oven pizzas are also available on site.

Local attractions
Predict long days out of doors around these parts, whether you want to stay around close to your peaceful countryside base, or take the car around the attractions and highlights of Provence.
Several cycle paths run from the site towards scenic spots like Eyguières and Grans. Local town Salon-de-Provence is reachable by bike too and worth a day to see its sights including the twelfth-century Château de l'Emperi, home these days to an annual festival of international classical music and to a military museum; the old centre and clock tower gateway, and – but of course – a museum on Nostradamus (his tomb can be seen in the Collegiale Saint-Laurent).
You can also cycle to Lamanon, where you should dig out some time to also see the spectacular caves of Calès, several floors of rocky habitats dating back to prehistoric times and used as a living space for millenia.
The site's setting close to the centre of the Provence region has it well placed for other popular destinations such as Camargue, Arles, Nîmes, and the Alpilles and Lubéron low mountain ranges – all less than an hour's drive away.
