Two beaches? Well, that sounds like a promising start, doesn't it? It's not really true though, because as well as the two beaches in question (Fort-Mahon and Quend, both less than 10 minutes' drive away), Campsite Les 2 Plages is in a handy location for even more beach and coast spots along the Baie de Somme and the Baie d’Authie. A little way away from the coast itself, this is a peaceful Picardy location surrounded by the green scenery of the Baie de Somme Picardy Maritime Natural Regional Park. And that means you can really make your holiday into whatever you want – beach days, outdoor activities and family attractions are all equally close by so you can mix and match as you please when you're here. And you can probably factor in some time on site too, as there are leisure facilities such as a heated outdoor pool (with a cover for the cooler days), a play area and a pétanque court. Barbecues are permitted here, and there's a food shop on site with a bread delivery service for your breakfasts. For any other foodie needs, the shops in Quend and Rue (both about five minutes' drive) should see you right. This isn't a park with heaps of noisy entertainments; instead the owners have chosen to focus on getting the basics just right, providing spacious marked-out pitches and a good cluster of essential amenities including a launderette, wifi service, accessible bathrooms and picnic tables for scenic alfresco meals. Dogs are welcome but will need to be kept under control and on a lead.

Liked Area and location was lovely and the site was really clean and well maintained

Disliked I arrived before 6pm as per instruction. I even emailed the office to state I would arrive within the check in times (2 - 6pm).
No one replied and on arrival I could not access the site for my stay as the barrier was closed. Totally unacceptable

Disliked Arrogant receptionist or Owner not too sure who she was

Doesn’t like English People felt not wanted there even though it was our last campsite before heading back to uk

Childrens pool Dirty full of leaves not cleaned out at all

I asked for English leaflet so could read it but again arrogant person said no English leaflets it was basically find the toilet/shower block

Toilet block total mess no toilets seats on any of them

Sink broken stuck on the floor

I asked her politely if I could have a word she just looked and went to the toilet she came out to go in the office ignoring hubby and I again

This was the worst site and please English people avoid all our other sites where nice polite and helped us could not do enough for us

No wifi she wanted us to pay

Liked Easy to find, very neat and clean, toilet paper in toilets.

Disliked Slightly miserable receptionist when we booked in. Wi-Fi didn’t work and showers were in cold side.

Liked C'est un des rares camping qui a toujours des emplacements pour tente ( il y en a de moins en moins). La possibilité de réserver quelques jours avant le départ, j'ai réservé le mercredi pour le lundi suivant. La piscine. Il y a toujours de l'eau chaude pour les douches dans la sanitaires communs. L'espace des emplacements, j'ai eu un grand emplacement séparé par des haies. À 15 minutes des plages de Quend et de ForMahon.

Disliked L'état général du camping. La piscine, l'eau est trouble et le fond est plein de tâches. Le pédiluve est vide. Les règles ne sont pas respectées, les jeunes se baignent en bermuda, des voitures roulent à 3h du matin. Très peu d'animation. Réservation impossible pour moins de 4 nuits. Le tarif est finalement assez élevé par rapport au service rendu.

Liked Het sanitair was dichtbij, dat is 's nachts prettig en de eerste week ook netjes. Wel eenvoudig/ verouderd, maar voldoende voor ons. Regelmatig een food truck met pizza enz. Verder een rustige eerste week. Lekker dichtbij zee ook. Quend plage, Fort Mahon Plage en de supermarkt waren op een paar minuten rijden goed bereikbaar.

Disliked Na de eerste week werd het steeds drukker en veranderde het sanitair binnen 2 dagen in een bende, inclusief verstopt toilet. Er werd ( wiet) gerookt op het toilet en verschillende mensen lieten hun hond uit op de camping tegen de heggen aan.
Er was op een gegeven moment een continue gebrom te horen ( airco of zo?) dit was de eerste week niet.

Disliked It's been a pretty dry summer and the ground was *really* hard: I'd recommend tech pegs and levelling up your camping mattress strategy.

Local attractions

So… which of those two beaches will you choose first? Fort-Mahon-Plage has an aqua park and a golf course as well as its sandy beach where you can swim or try sand yachting. Quend-Plage is a slightly quieter option, but it does have the Arbre & Aventure climbing park. Both are less than 10 minutes’ drive away, and if you can't choose you can follow the Sentier du Royon path between the two. There are numerous walking trails to follow in the local area, or you can hire bikes on site to tour on two wheels. And there are other outdoor activities – perhaps fishing at Le Narvik (five minutes' drive), riding at Espaces Equestres Henson (10 minutes) or birdwatching at Parc du Marquenterre (15 minutes). Local companies organise seal-watching boat trips, but you can also often spot them lounging on the beach in Berck (20 minutes). For different days out, you may like to think about visits to the beach and tourist train in Le Crotoy (15 minutes), the rides of Parc Bagatelle (20 minutes) or the historic town of Abbeville (half an hour).
