What customers say

This campsite is praised for its quiet atmosphere, spacious, private sites, and excellent, very clean facilities. Guests appreciated the convenient location, a short walk to the village, shops, and a lake with kids' parks. Staff were frequently described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming, with reception providing good support. While most found no faults, a few mentioned minor issues with passcodes, grass cutting, and shower water temp. Chalets were found functional & comfy by some, though mattresses & pillows received negative feedback.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Quiet pitch
Clean shower and toilet

Disliked Luke warm water for showers and washing up.
Reception was closed during the 2 nights we were there, so no welcome.
Everything closed on 31st August, so site, was in effect closed and felt deserted.
So many codes to remember, including the loo block. You even needed to remember code to get out, as a pedestrian.
Dislike mixed male and female shower/toilet facilities. Felt unsafe using these, especially when site so quiet, made sure my husband came with me.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked The welcome, the ability to choose our own pitch. The location meant we could walk in to the town. Cleanliness of the site and all its facilities, shared spaces (games/to room etc) was perfect.

Disliked We would have like an on site pool, but there is a municipal pool very near by.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Love new shower block. Good size pitches.

Disliked You needed codes for everything, even getting into the toilet block and washing machine area. Not my favourite site! There were activities listed, however it seemed it was only for French visitors.

Local attractions

First things first: get over to the public lake a couple of minutes’ walk away from the site – it's aimed at anglers but appreciated by wanderers too, as there’s a park next to its banks for pottering about. It also has fitness equipment set up on the side for a workout with a view, and watersports are available in the summer months. Less than 10 minutes’ walk from here, Craon Castle and its sprawling gardens are a must-visit, as are the limestone houses and wooden halls in the town’s historic centre just off the Oudon river. Drop by the Ferme du Pressoir factory, another 10-minute walk in the opposite direction, for tours of the craft cider production facility, then drive for 15 minutes to Cossé-le-Vivien, to check out the Museum Robert Tatin’s mythical-themed sculptures set in gorgeous gardens. Stay outdoors with a trip to Château-Gontier, 20 minutes away, to wander the towpaths by the Mayenne river or admire the animals in the sanctuary; a little further are a couple of out-of-the-ordinary sights: the old slate mine in Noyant-la-Gravoyère (25 minutes) and the Lactopôle milk museum (35 minutes).
