  • Quiet, wooded and very friendly park 45 minutes' drive from Dunkirk
  • A 30-minute drive from Malo-les-Bains beach in Dunkirk
  • Within strolling distance of 'the most Flemish village of France'
Quiet? Within easy reach of Dunkirk, beaches and the Eurotunnel? And how about lovely old Lille less than an hour's drive away and a setting in the triangle of Dunkirk, Lille and Saint-Omer? Check, check and thrice check at Camping Saint-Antoine, a quiet, wooded and family-friendly park within strolling distance of the small and greenly scenic village of Bollezeele. This is a mighty pretty – and mighty friendly – place, hailed by guests for its amiable vibe, handsome surrounds and well-kept pitches, all spacious, on grass and well separated. It's in a splendid rural location 20 minutes off the main motorway but only half a kilometre from the village and a 45-minute drive from Calais; moving westwards rather than coastwards, the spectacular Caps et Marais d'Opale Natural Regional Park is within 20 minutes' drive. Facilities are as tiptop as the vibe, the setting and the modern and well-maintained amenities: there's table football to tackle, a playground for the kids to muck about at, a bar for drinks, and a pétanque court (fhis is France after all). Take your shopping basket and go village foraging on foot at Bollezeele's bakery and supermarket for further supplies – this place is well worth a wander anyway, as it was once acclaimed by a tasteful type as 'the most Flemish village of France'.

What customers say

A peaceful, friendly site with spacious, private pitches. Praised for value & convenience to ferries. Basic but clean facilities, showers extra. Welcoming staff. Some find facilities dated but appreciate the quiet, traditional French feel. A recommended affordable stopover.

Power optional grass tent campsite

Liked The woman running the site was very friendly and I had a nice big private space.

Disliked It’s a very basic site so basic is what you get absolutely no frills campsite even down to no loo roll in any of the toilets, fortunately I had my own. I was in my tent for 9 pm and I had an amazing sleep until 4.30 when the local cockerel decided it was time to get up!
It’s on a farm so no complaints there in fact it made me smile once I was over the shock of the awakening and watched the stunning sunrise that was worth the payment alone.
So all in all it was a 1 night €10 stepping stone to the ferry port nothing more for me.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely site close to Calais. We stayed for 2 nights on a very large plot which had more than enough room for a 9mtr motorhome and plenty of space to sit out. Toilets/ showers are basic but clean. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. It’s a 10 minute walk to the centre of the village which is charming. We would definitely stay here again.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Was looking for a last minute campsite for the evening before our ferry home and I'm so glad Sainte Antonie was available.
What a little gem. Quiet campsite next to a small village about 30 minutes from Dunkirk, away from the hassle of the centre. The campsite had everything we needed for the night. Lovely, friendly staff. Basic Shower and toliet block but was clean - needed tokens for the shower which was €1.50 each (I think) but get a long time with one token.
There was a little bar area which offered small number of drinks, cash only.
We will definitely be back.

Local attractions

Hiking trails aplenty are nearby and the site is within easy reach of lakes for swimming and fishing. Take a trip to the tiny fortified town of Cassel, about 20 minutes' drive away, networked by cobbled alleyways and dotted with courtyards, hidden spaces and landscaped gardens. Climb to the top of Mont Cassel for great views over the plain of Flanders; in the town below are traditional old houses, the Grand'Place and the Flemish Gothic-style collegiate church of Notre-Dame. Another excellent option is the medieval 'city of art and history' Saint-Omer (also 20 minutes), to explore narrow and photoworthy streets lined with mansions and 18th-century houses. While you're here, do hail a craft from the quayside for a boat trip through the Audomarois marshes in their scenic wetland setting between Flanders and Artois. If you're interested in war history, two World War II bunkers – Blockhaus d'Éperlecques and La Coupole – are in the Caps et Marais d'Opale Natural Regional Park, both within 25 kilometres of the site. And your nearest beach? It's Malo-les-Bains, half an hour's drive from the site at Dunkirk.
