It's free, quick and easy!
- A haven of greenery beside a river and on the edge of a beech forest
- Just over a 10-min walk to Lyons-la-Forêt and 40 mins’ drive to Rouen
- Pool, playground, mini golf, tennis, football and bar with terrace
Ahh, Normandy. A place of postcardworthy villages, handsome towns and the cracking Camping Saint-Paul park... sort a stay at this family-friendly site a 10-minute walk from Lyons-la-Forêt for excellent amenities, handsome scenery, and activities from pool dips to tennis to keep you busy all the day long.
As well as the tennis and the (covered, heated) pool, this well-equipped site also has a football stadium among its amusements, a playground and miniature golf, and a games room for indoor times.
While the kids are off discovering such diversions, adults can gravitate towards their natural habitat: a snack bar where aperitifs, ice creams and light meals can be had on the terrace or taken away. It's open in high season, as well as weekends and bank hols in low season; outside these hours eats are sorted at the restaurants in Lyons la Forêt or from the small supermarket less than a 10-minute walk away.
Regional explores are best started in this village too with its typically Norman half-timbered buildings: flit from the Bailiwick Hall with its 18th-century furniture to the 12th-century Saint-Denis church while dipping in and out of art studios and galleries between. Nature’s easy to access from Lyons la Forêt as well, as adventurers can potter along narrow streets to the banks of the Lieure river and into the forest hillsides; cantering through the countryside can be had from a horse riding centre within a five-minute drive.
Prefer your wilderness tamed? The manicured Le Jardin Plume (20 minutes) and Bois-Guilbert’s gardens and sculptures (25 minutes) are within driving distance.
