  • Leafy and family-friendly Aube campsite on the shores of Lake Amance
  • Nigloland theme park 20 minutes’ drive; medieval Troyes 40 minutes
  • Swimming pool and bike hire on site; watersports five minutes’ walk
If you’re considering a camping getaway in the Aube and need somewhere with lots and lots for active kids to do, take a look at Camping du Tertre, 10 minutes’ walk from lakeside Dienville. On-site facilities include an outdoor pool complex and bike hire, plus an extensive play area for younger kids And that’s just for starters. This family-friendly spot is five minutes’ walk from a sandy beach and watersports opportunities galore on the shores of Lake Amance. As if that’s not enough, the campsite is in the middle of the Parc Naturel Régional de la Forêt d’Orient, offering up a myriad of hiking and cycling routes, while the rollercoasters and waterslides of Nigloland theme park are only 20 minutes’ drive away. But what about the amenities on site? They all cater superbly for families too. Your foodie needs are taken care of, thanks to the daily breakfast service, an informal licensed bar, snacks available from the Cabane de Tiph and a menu of family favourites like burgers and pizzas in the restaurant. If you’d rather stick to the self-catering regime, there’s also a grocery shop for stocking up on everyday essentials.

Power optional grass RV campsite

Liked The site over all was very quiet not many on. The toilets wash area were very clean. The pool area was nice but I was unable to use as the had a no foot wear policy around the area and I could not walk in bare feet to pain-full. The lake opposite the site was wonderful and had a great restaurant. The site was ok as a base.

Disliked Not been able to use the pool.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely area with beautiful lakes near by. Nice size pitch for a couple of nights stay.

Disliked Toilet facilities are a little basic and the water was very unpredictable for temperature, hot then cold.

From the manager: Dear Sir,

Thank you for your review.
However allow me to be a little bit suprised with your comment which is absolutely not in line to the rest of the reviews we have had so far.

Liked A gem of a campsite. Fabulous owner, looked after us really well. Food excellent and good selection of home made beers. Staff and other guests friendly. Spacious pitches. Lovely pool area. Football, table tennis, trampolines (with 2 different age ranges) and Pétanque available. Very pretty area of France. We will be booking again. WIFI signal stronger near reception.

Local attractions

Most families make a beeline for Lake Amance to laze on the sandy beach and take refreshing dips in pristine waters. More active members of your clan can head for Ski Nautique Club de L’Aube to race around on jetskis or monoskis, play beach soccer at the dedicated pitch or learn to sail dinghies from Port Dienville marina (all five minutes’ walk). If you’re feeling like some adult downtime after all that haring around, quieter pursuits include explorations of the gorgeous medieval heart of Troyes (40 minutes’ drive), with its half-timbered houses and cosy bistros on cobbled streets. Or how about taking a tour of recreated 19th-century interiors and formal gardens at Château de Vaux (also 40 minutes)? If you don’t want to stir so far from home base, pretty Dienville (10 minutes’ walk) awaits with its statuesque church, lively daily market, walks along Lake Amance and a choice of terrace cafés and pizzerias.
