Combine a) this fine ambition + b) city sightseeing with a stay at Camping Onlycamp La Gâtine, only a five-minute walk from the city centre of Bléré. Activities are easily sorted from here too – well, you'll need to exercise off all that vino – as La Gâtine is next to a sports centre with a heated swimming pool, tennis courts, mini golf, playgrounds and sailing courses. An equestrian centre and a leisure centre for sailing, canoeing and waterskiing are also within walking distance. On site, Camping Onlycamp La Gâtine's facilities include free wifi throughout, a games room with TV, a washing machine and tumble dryer, and three modern amenities blocks. The site is disabled-friendly.

Liked: The lady in reception was very friendly and helpful when I called and emailed about late check in.
The site itself is very green with lots of trees and grass, quiet and peaceful. Located in a pretty little town next to the river. Facilities are not bad. We had a good time and would like to come back.

Food was wonderful cocktails and added bonus.
Clearly marked pitches and site facilities all updated and good condition.
Children area looked fun and well equipped.
Fenced off pool clean.

Liked: El entorno y que había bastante sombra, parcelas muy grandes y llanas.

Disliked: Los sanitarios muy dejados, llenos de arañas y no había papel ni jabón de manos, los fregaderos fatal se salía el agua, no trabajaba bien y salía poca agua. También bastantes bichos en general.

Liked: Great choice of pitches and close to the river and an easy walk into town. Facilities were fine.

Disliked: Recycling is on the outside of the camp, no bins inside that we could see.

From Paris (230km): Take the A10 towards Bordeaux, then take Exit 18 to Amboise. At Amboise (13km), follow the signs for Bléré (16km). Look out for our signposts. From Tours (25km) and Bordeaux (360km): Take the A10 towards Paris, then take the interchange for the A85 towards Vierzon (just before Tours). Take Exit 11 signposted Bléré and continue for 7km. Look out for our signposts.

Start off in the old town of Bléré first when exploring the lie of the land around Camping Onlycamp La Gâtine. Sights to see include the 1848 windmill, the Renaissance Chapel Of Jehan Seigne and the fifteenth century Grand Logis, or one could just amble placidly along the town's riverbanks or take to the water for in a canoe or rowing boat... Camping Onlycamp La Gâtine is also in prime position to explore the castles and wineries of the Touraine part of the Loire Valley, an area with famed cellars such as La Jarnoterie, Le Clos de l'Epinay and Château de la Grille, and the equally famed châteaux of Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceau, Villandry, Clos Lucé, Chinon, Langeais and Loches.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
