Off to see how many of the Touraine vineyards you can get around during a break in France's Indre-et-Loire? Combine a) this fine ambition + b) city sightseeing with a stay at Camping La Gâtine, only a five-minute walk from the city centre of Bléré.

Activities are easily sorted from here too – well, you'll need to exercise off all that vino – as La Gâtine is next to a sports centre with a heated swimming pool, tennis courts, mini golf, playgrounds and sailing courses. An equestrian centre and a leisure centre for sailing, canoeing and waterskiing are also within walking distance.

On site, Camping La Gâtine's facilities include free wifi throughout, a games room with TV, a washing machine and tumble dryer, and three modern amenities blocks. The site is disabled-friendly.

From Paris (230km):
Take the A10 towards Bordeaux, then take Exit 18 to Amboise. At Amboise (13km), follow the signs for Bléré (16km). Look out for our signposts.

From Tours (25km) and Bordeaux (360km):
Take the A10 towards Paris, then take the interchange for the A85 towards Vierzon (just before Tours). Take Exit 11 signposted Bléré and continue for 7km. Look out for our signposts.

Local attractions

Start off in the old town of Bléré first when exploring the lie of the land around Camping La Gâtine. Sights to see include the 1848 windmill, the Renaissance Chapel Of Jehan Seigne and the fifteenth century Grand Logis, or one could just amble placidly along the town's riverbanks or take to the water for in a canoe or rowing boat...

Camping La Gâtine is also in prime position to explore the castles and wineries of the Touraine part of the Loire Valley, an area with famed cellars such as La Jarnoterie, Le Clos de l'Epinay and Château de la Grille, and the equally famed châteaux of Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceau, Villandry, Clos Lucé, Chinon, Langeais and Loches.

Terms and conditions

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the terms and conditions.

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorization from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

Facilities/activities including swimming pool are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.
Motorcycle(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

A state-issued fishing license is required (you'll need to apply for this beforehand).
Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10pm and 8am.
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Swimsuits are required and cut-offs or Bermuda shorts are not permitted.
The outdoor swimming pool is open between 07/06 and 08/31 (subject to weather conditions).

Reception is open from 8am to 12pm and from 3pm to 7pm between 07/01 and 08/31.
Reception is open from 9am to 12pm and from 4pm to 7pm between 01/04 - 30/06 and 01/09 - 10/10.

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Open fires are prohibited.

You must follow management instructions when setting up your tent/rig and related equipment.

This area is not subject to city tax.

No vehicle movement between 10pm and 7am.

Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.
