It's free, quick and easy!
- Family-friendly site five minutes' walk from a sandy beach
- 30-minute drive from the harbour and walled Old Town of Concarneau
- Indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools and paddling pool
Cor, this beach is a bit of a stunner. A four-kilometre stretch of white-sanded loveliness – and it’s got a lifeguarded area, watersports and rockpools… and it's a five-minute saunter from Camping Le Helles.
If it’s merely a swim you seek, you’ll not even need to trot that far, as the site has its own pools – an outdoor one with a sizeable sunbathing/ small-person supervision area, and an indoor one with a paddling pool and heated waters. When dried off, set up for a game of table tennis or pétanque (tournaments are held weekly in the summer season), or give in to natural holiday vibes and settle down for a rest while the kids continue the fun times at the playground, or on the trampoline or bouncy castle.
When it comes to feeding time, the site is around a 10-minute walk from the restaurants and cafés in Sainte-Marine, or you can light up a barbie on site to cook your own over coals. All the necessaries can be acquired in the Le Helles shop, the little shops in town or at the supermarket (a 10-minute drive away); in high season you can also make life easy by picking up light meals from the snack bar.
Still not quite convinced? ‘Possibly the best site we have experienced after many years of campervan travel’ is the verdict of one previous happy guest – high praise indeed.

Local attractions
If you’d like to get out on to the sea, wander up to the sailing centre in Sainte-Marine, a 15-minute walk away, to hire canoes, kayaks and windsurfing kit as well as take paddleboarding lessons.
You can also get out on the waves on a boat trip over to the gorgeous Glénan Islands from Bénodet, 10 minutes’ drive away, where there’s a scuba diving centre too for those who like to sink below the surface.
Dedicated landlubbers can still make the most of the coastline by heading out on the GR 34 trail, which runs alongside the beach to reach Île Tudy in the west and Bénodet in the east. Plenty of other paths run through the area, too – along the banks of the Odet river and through the Bois de Roscouré (a 45-minute walk north of the site).
If you prefer wheels for your explorations, hire electric bikes and pedal off to villages including Loctudy (half an hour away) or La Forêt Fouesnant, within an hour.
