  • Peaceful riverside site in Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses
  • Half an hour's drive from the River Loire and two Loire châteaux
  • Fishing, bike hire and pedal boat hire available on site
Longing to relax by the river? Then you’ll be right at home at Camping des Lancières, right on the banks of the Loing river in Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses. All sorts of restful plans can be catered for here: you need only stroll along to the edge of the site to select a fishing spot, hire a pedal boat or borrow an electric bike to hit the waterside paths. Even games of pétanque come with a pretty water-view backdrop here, and of course there are plenty of shaded peaceful corners for picnicking, reading and snoozing (make sure to tire the tiddlers out on the trampoline first to ensure they’re ready to nap too). There’s no shop or café on site, but you’ll not need them being so close to the town centre, as plenty of bars, restaurants and little shops are within a 10-minute saunter (a bigger supermarket is 10 minutes’ drive away for more thorough stocking up). Rogny also makes a rather handy base for days out on your Bourgogne break – horse riding, hikes, treetop trails and canoe trips can all be had nearby for fresh-air fiends, while those with more of a penchant for cultural visits have a lengthy list of Loire-side châteaux to take in.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Pleasant site close to canal and village and the seven locks which are very impressive.
Bar, shop, and restaurant in the village plus a very good pizza bar/takeaway which we used.
Just stopped overnight on our way north but had an enjoyable evening walk.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Cheapest site we had booked over nearly 3 weeks in Europe, it was a basic small site the toilets were adequate and clean just old, hot water electric hook up
And wifi for £10 a night whats there not to like

Very quite which was fine for us table tennis and trampoline for kids small boats for hire and fishing in the canal, village was a 5 minute walk where was a couple of local restaurants

100% would stay here for the value if you want something lively
Well its not for you if you want a decent quite site for a couple of nights well its perfect

Power optional grass campsite

Power optional grass campsite

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Spotlessly clean, very close to Rogny, a really beautiful little town. They really have thought of everything on this site, there’s a cabin on site with WiFi, a library, microwave, freezer and information, outside the cabin is an under cover seating area for hot days. I have been touring France for 3 weeks now, camping every night, and this is definitely the best site I have stayed at. Don’t miss it!

Disliked Makes every other site seem badly organised!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your review. It is very pleasant for us.

Local attractions

Get going on the outdoorsy antics without even leaving town: Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses has a tennis court, sports field and fitness trail to keep energetic types busy. If you’d like to explore beyond boat pedalling range, you can hire bigger boats in town or join horseback trips from one of the two riding centres. Excellent alfresco days out can be had at Lac du Bourdon, 25 minutes away – the sailing centre has canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing for those who’d like to take to the water, while archery, mountain biking and orienteering courses are options for folks who’d rather stick to dry land. A few minutes further on is Nature Adventure, a place of treetop trails for budding Tarzans and paintballing for kids who’d like the chance to take aim at their siblings. If history’s more your thing, take the 15-minute drive to the gorgeous Château de la Bussière or beyond to the Loire – the châteaux of Saint-Brisson-sur-Loire (half an hour away) and Sully-sur-Loire (45 minutes) are worth seeking out. Get the kids involved with a visit to Guédelon (half an hour), where you can see a traditional-style château being constructed and try your hand at all sorts of medieval crafts.
