- Stay among the Burgundy vineyards outside the village of Meursault
- Well-placed to explore the Burgundy countryside
- Three pools, plus restaurant with terrace overlooking the vineyards
If nothing appeals to you more than relaxing in scenic countryside with a glass of wine in hand, Camping La Grappe d’Or, a family-friendly site less than a kilometre from the village of Meursault in Burgundy, should be high on your getaway bucket list.
La Grappe d’Or is well placed for exploration of the stunning Burgundy countryside: rent a bike on site and follow the cycle route through the nearby villages and vineyards, or join the towpath along the canal 10 kilometres away for a scenic stroll far from the noise of cars.
Back on site, cool off with a dip in one of the three pools – a large swimming pool, waterslide pool and paddling pool – during high season. For something a little more active, play a round of table tennis or rent out a tennis court for the real thing...
And to build your energy back up? Have a homemade meal in the restaurant, taking in the views from the terrace over the vineyards and the village of Meursault, or try out one of the restaurants within walking distance of the site. If you’re looking for a lighter meal, the on-site shop should see you sorted with snacks.
For essentials and supplies, stroll to Meursault to visit the bakery, delicatessen, grocery and shops.

Local attractions
This is Burgundy, so it should come as no surprise that there are plenty of thriving wineries here. ..Luckily, there’s no need for a designated driver when you stay at Grappe d’Or – you can go for tastings at more than a dozen vineyards and cellars in Meursault, all within 25 minutes’ walk of the site.
Once you’re able to get behind the wheel again, there are lots of non-vino related things to do around Grappe d’Or: in Beaune 15 minutes away, start with the stunning Hospices de Beaune – a 15th-century Gothic style almshouse that's been turned into a museum.
Beaune is also famous for mustard, so make sure to sample some while you’re there... The locals say it livens up every dish, but you might want to find out for yourself – head to La Moutarderie Fallot for a museum tour, a sensory tour and, of course, a tasting.
For a different flavour of Burgundy – a historic one – there are loads of stately mansions and architectural gems within an hour of the site: the spectacular Château de la Rochepot, Château de Cormatin and the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy are particular must-sees.
If you’re in search of a city day out, the museums, galleries, restaurants, theatres and sights of Paris are two and a half hours from Beaune by train.
