What. A. Stunner. Guests seeking watery times, seaside days and spectacular green countryside in the Landes department are well sorted and then some at Sandaya Camping Le Col Vert – it's on 30 hectares, 10 minutes' drive from both Lac de Léon and the seaside resort of Vielle-Saint-Girons, and has direct access to the lake's beach for cooling dips on hot days.
Weather of any type presents no problemo here at all: the covered pool and paddling pool are heated to 28°C and open for the entire season, and an additional 200m² outdoor pool and paddling pool with water toys opens when the days warm up further (the waterpark area is somewhat stunning: see pics).
To aid your sunny disposition still further, settle down for a spa session in the wellness centre while the offspring amuse themselves far far away with the antics of the kids' and teens' clubs. Or you could join in with the summer activities including sports tournaments, ping pong, aquagym, zumba and pétanque … then amble on in the evenings for more glitzy fare such as poker nights, live music or disco or karaoke... perhaps as the kids flee far far away...
Other leisure facilities include a games room, a play area with bouncy castle, a tennis court, a sports area, miniature golf, ping pong and a pool table. Food is – of course – excellently covered too at this excellently-equipped park: take your pick from a restaurant dishing up local cuisine, a snack bar serving pizza, roast chicken, burgers and fries, and a pool bar overlooking the water park.

Route directions
From the north:
On the A63 (Bordeaux/Bayonne), take Exit 12 signposted Castets and continue on the D42 towards Girons (D42) up to Linxe. Take the D382 to Vielle and continue on the Route du Lac. The campsite is signposted.
From the south:
On the A64 (Toulouse/Tarbes/Bayonne) take Exit 6 signposted Peyrehorade and continue on the A63 to St Geours de Maremne (A63). Take Exit 11, signposted Magescq and follow the directions to Léon on the D16, then Vielle, and finally take the Route du Lac. The campsite is signposted.

Local attractions
You could seriously spend your entire holiday on site, but do get out and about for some of your break... there's stacks to see and do nearby.
Beaches and watersports are within very easy reach at Lac de Léon and Vielle-Saint-Girons, each seven kilometres from the site. Or you could (should/must) venture out onto the waterway of the Courant d'Huchet Nature Park, connecting the lake to the beach at Moliets-et-Maa via vegetation so lush it's nicknamed the Landes Amazon.
More seaside days are at the famed resort of Soorts-Hossegor 40 minutes away, known worldwide for its spectacular surfing – said to be among the best in the world. For a more peaceful time, the thermal baths of Dax are also within 40 minutes' drive.
