  • Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, bike hire, outdoor games and bar on site
‘Sign me right up’ is the usual response to being told hearing about Chunu’u Hostal y Glamping Minca, in the foothills of the Minca Sierra Nevada and 45 minutes’ drive from Santa Marta, perhaps Colombia’s favourite beach destination. Accommodation is in brightly painted wooden pods sleeping two people, and fitted out with a double bed, fan, bedside table and electrical outlet. All the pods have pretty riverside views, as the glampsite is set on the banks of the Minca River – and that means that lucky old you can have a dip whenever you want. There’s also a swimming pool with sun deck, and a Jacuzzi for a soothing soak with family or friends. You can while away hours on giant hammocks overlooking the forest, borrow books from the chill-out zone or play outdoor games like Jenga. The riverside bar is the hub of the site where you can see up and discuss your day of adventuring with fellow guests. If you’re travelling on foot, it's handy to know that a bus runs from the marketplace in Santa Marta to Minca – from there it’s 10 minutes’ walk to the glampsite; you can also rent motorbikes on site to get out exploring in the mountains.
