  • Peaceful site in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
  • A 10-minute drive from Pembroke; 25 minutes from Tenby
  • Firepits and barbecues allowed; dogs and families welcome
'Easy to get to but difficult to leave' is how the folk who own Parke Farm Camping describe the place – have a quick look at a map and the site pics and you'll see exactly where they're coming from. Sandy beaches for swimmers, surfers and coast path ramblers are within a few miles of this pretty Pembrokeshire site – which, by the way, is located within the gorgeous surrounds of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. For town times, historic Pembroke – where there's a railway station, supermarket, pubs and other amenities – is 10 minutes away by car. Those keen on surveying the local seascapes will probably be pleased to know that most of the 186 miles of Pembrokeshire’s coast path are within a similarly accessible distance. Life on site is all quite laidback – families and dogs are welcome (although there's an adults-only area that you can request if you'd prefer a bit of quiet time with your beloved), and there's no problem lighting up firepits and barbecues. Various amenities are on hand to help life run smoothly, including free wifi, a washing-up area, showers and toilets, and there's plenty of space around the place to relax and take in the fresh air. Please note that some sections of the local coast path may be closed when the local MOD firing range is in use. Usually, this is outside of bank holidays, school holidays and weekends, but check online in advance if you want to be sure of access.

What customers say

This well-kept campsite boasts spacious, private spots with wildflowers. Facilities are clean with ample hot water. Guests love the friendly owners, peaceful vibe, and great location for beaches and sights. Morning tea/coffee is a nice touch. Limited WiFi & occasional military range noise were noted. More showers are needed at peak times.

Liked Absolutely the best place I have stayed in a long time. The pitches are absolutely huge and the beautiful long grass around each pitch giving you the privacy and such a pretty setting. Had the clearest of nights and the unbelievable stargazing just feeling so out of the way of everything but knowing only a short drive away you can get everything you need. The amazing and friendly onsite staff with free coffee in the morning and marshmallows in the evening just great. Honestly this place makes me realise why I love camping.

Liked Very well presented pitches. More than ample size pitches. Whole site was clean and tidy at all times.
The family running the site are some of the nicest people I have ever met, super friendly extremely generous and always trying to make sure everyone was happy. Going above and beyond even providing free tea and coffee every morning.

Disliked A little too far from the coast to walk comfortably (country lanes) but only a few minutes drive, would be nice if there was across fields walk all the way to coastline

Liked Absolutely loved Parke Farm. Perfect in every way. The owners are so friendly, the free tea and coffee and the fridge/freezer for the campers to use is a lovely bonus. Also free marshmallows in the evening.:..
Loved the fact that WiFi was not very good so you can totally switch off and with no light pollution you could see the stars perfectly. Pitches big enough for both our cars and our tent and we still had plenty of space to play boules and for our 4 dogs to explore. Gorgeous beaches nearby especially Broad Haven. Would definitely go back. Our 15 yr old daughter also loved it. I would definitely give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Disliked The only suggestion would be a fenced off field to let dogs run around off the lead. Otherwise nothing we disliked

Liked Slept well, great location within driving distance of attractions, castles, pretty towns, and the seaside.

Disliked Little privacy, small pitches, and constant noise from children riding bikes, kicking balls, and running around - felt more like a playground than a campsite. Evening groups talking loudly until about 11pm. Primitive sanitary setup with tiny sinks over toilets and makeshift showers. Free tea/coffee doesn’t offset the downsides. Frequent vehicle traffic, including the owner’s tractor, adds to the noise. Nowhere to go for a walk, you have to drive.

Local attractions

Tenby (25 minutes' drive), a firm favourite for beachgoing folk, is within easy reach, but quieter, lesser-known sands like Broadhaven South beach (10 minutes) should also be on the itinerary – at this latter spot there's ample opportunity for swimming and sunbathing, or for more active times like canoeing and angling. If you can pull yourself away from the coast for a couple of hours, the rewards are rich indeed. Head for freshwater frolics at Bosherston lily ponds (five minutes' drive), a spectacular National Trust-managed stretch of land with dunes, footpaths and pools where otters dwell. While you're likely to see a lot of wildlife while strolling around, spotting more exotic critters might require a trip to Manor House Wildlife Park (20 minutes). Also inland is Lamphey Bishop's Palace (15 minutes), a ruined ecclesiastical mansion where prelates of yore lived in sumptuous surrounds. And as you'll gather while driving around, historic buildings aren't in short supply around here. Also top of the list are Pembroke Castle (10 minutes), where you can admire tall turrets while cruising by in a rowing boat, and Manorbier Castle (25 minutes), a Norman landmark notable for its gardens, dovecote and watermill.
