  • Dog-friendly grass tent pitches on Anglesey with views of Snowdonia
  • A 10-minute drive from the beach and the Newborough nature reserve
  • Barbecues permitted on site; bus stop nearby; pub half an hour’s walk
Pack up your tents and poles and other essential holiday bits, for Campio Andy Camping is a lovely tents-only site in the village of Dwyran on the Isle of Anglesey. It’s likely you will rave about the views here for a long time to come, with Snowdonia in the distance. The local beach is absolutely boast-worthy too: the car park for Ynys Llanddwyn is just 10 minutes’ drive away. Look forward to dog-friendly grass pitches and space for barbecues (but no fires, please). There are grassy fields all around, although the site is also next to a main road with easy access to Niwbwrch (also known as Newborough), which has stepping stones, a great pub and access to walks through a nature reserve. Sleeping right next to a petrol station is always handy; the shop sells a few groceries if you need them. There’s also a bus stop nearby. On site, the facilities are made up of flushable toilets and a cold outdoor shower. Just for guests, the site also arranges private evening falconry demonstrations (weather permitting).

What customers say

This tent-only campground features spacious, level sites with lovely views. Guests rave about owner Andy's friendliness, helpfulness, and local insights. Facilities, especially restrooms, are consistently noted as very clean. While amenities are basic (cold showers only), it's excellent value. Perfect for exploring nearby beaches and attractions. Minor suggestions: a dishwashing sink and better shower privacy.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Nice small pop up site , cracking views and great location. As described nice clean toilets, cold outdoor shower (took my breath but felt nice) bins and a water supply. Plenty of space given for your own pitch. Would highly recommend for a little getaway, very friendly

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Campio Andy Camping was brilliant.

Andy himself is very friendly, taking his time each day to talk to guests. He's knowledgeable on the local area and even helped secure our tent in the wind while we were out.

The site itself is very basic, but we loved that. It's clean and tidy and has wonderful views. We'll definitely head back.

Andy has pet dogs and birds, he allowed the kids to stroke the dogs, they're very friendly. He brought the birds over to see a family, and had no issues with my kids looking too.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked As soon as we rode up we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming Andy, he even asked if we had bases for our motorbike stands, we only needed the one, but a nice touch. Andy is very hospitable throughout our stay and very knowledgeable of the area and beyond. The site is lovely and flat and stone free, that's a bonus. Toilets are clean and well maintained. We didn't use the outside cold shower as brought wet wipes for our 2 night stay.

Disliked Nothing to do with Campio Andy, but as the petrol station is nearby, it would be nice if the owner opened up earlier during the month Andy is open, it could do good trade and it would be handy to have bought fresh for breakfast. Milk, bacon etc as we had no portable electric for a fridge...it's just a thought.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Absolutely fabulous stay from start to finish 19/10
Andy is the friendliest, most knowledgeable and personable site owner we have met in our many years together of camping.
He took time to give you a one to one welcome and get to know you before making suggestions of places to visit.
He was like a live Google maps with his fabulous directions.
We both had a couple of showers during our two night stay and the water didn’t feel too cold- 🥶 it was a very hot bank holiday weekend ☀️
Andy also went above and beyond for us
when the wind suddenly whipped up whilst we were out enjoying the wonderful beaches. Andy kindly ensured our tent was secured using his own pegs
and then very kindly gave us a call t☎️ update us, whilst assuring us we could continue to enjoy our last day at the beach.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked the toilets were always clean as was the shower, Andy is very friendly and chatty and we got to see his falcon which was very cool, we stayed with a group of friends but the camp site might be more suited to families as everyone was in bed by 10 this made us hyper concious of any noise we were making at night, but this is often the way with campsites, the campsite is large and well connected

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Campsite was brilliant, Andy was absolutely lovely! Felt very welcomed and very safe on his site. Very spacious campground, clean facilities. I'd say I would give five stars other than the sign to find campio andy camping was a little hard to spot as it only shows from one direction when you are on the road but other than that, absolutely amazing campsite! Really nice to wake up and see bunny rabbits and mountains in the distance. And for Andy to come round and check on us and make sure everything was all right. Was incredibly kind and welcoming. Great experience!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Ideal location for some lovely spots around the Anglesey coast. Plenty of room to pitch, even with a relatively full site. Clean toilets, running water and a nice cold shower for those brave enough. Andy was extremely helpful, had loads of useful local knowledge and couldn’t have been friendlier. We’ll be back when we’re next in the area - highly recommend!
