  • Peaceful Isle of Anglesey park 10 minutes’ stroll from Lligwy beach
  • Beaumaris Castle 25 minutes’ drive, Rhosneigr Beach 35 minutes
  • Family-friendly and dogs welcome; pubs and shops five minutes’ drive
When a relaxed break on Anglesey is what the doctor ordered, Tyn Rhos Caravan Park should do rather nicely. This rural and dog-friendly park really is a quiet spot tucked into leafy countryside, with no clubhouse, shop, restaurant or play area on site. However, children are welcome to stay, and you should find all the pubs, cafés and shops you need a handy five minutes’ drive away in Moelfre. It’s also only 10 minutes’ stroll from the sweeping stretches of Lligwy beach – known for its golden sands, scenic views and beach café. Luckily the beach is also open for your furry friends, so they can join in with a splash about in the waves. This caravan park beckons hikers to follow sections of the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, which passes close by. It’s also in pole position for jaunts to the island’s great heritage attractions like Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes’ drive), or indeed back across the Menai Straits for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in Eryri National Park (40 minutes). Practical facilities cover all the essentials: modern toilet and shower blocks (including one newly built for 2025; a small charge applies for hot showers), a washing-up room and laundry.

Liked The pitch we were allocated was not available so we were moved to a sister site next door. The pitch was a good size with good views over the country side.
We were a little dubious about paying for a shower but they were fine. Plenty of time and hot water. The showers and toilets were excellent.
The site was a 10 minute walk from Lligwy Beach and an interesting ancient Roman village and burial mound.

Definitely go again.

Liked Electric hookups. Facilities were good. A short walk to the beach. Good management of spacing other campers. Two decent cafes at the beach. Close to get onto the coastal path. Quiet.

Disliked Moelfre was a 25 min walk No shop on site. We were not automatically given the Wi-Fi code so did not use it during our stay.

Liked We were very lucky that we arrived on the sunday that everyone went home after half term so had the tent areas to ourselves! Facilities were fresh and clean. About a 10 minute walk down to the beach, which of an evening we pretty much had to ourselves too! Very dog friendly. Did a coastal walk found to the next bay for a pint or two at the kinmel arms where we also ate one evening and highly recommend. A beautiful area and was very impressed as it was our first trip to anglesey. Will definitely be visiting and pitching there again in the near future.
We also received great service at the site where we had to book in first. We did have a mix up with wifi codes but it was sorted very quickly.
