Liked The views from there are fantastic and the owner I think his name is Gareth was so helpful. Our caravan electrics tripped the hook up so he kindly borrowed an extension cable so we could use our fridge and phone chargers.

Disliked What’s not to like !

Primitive grass campsite

Liked I absolutely loved the area, the views were beautiful

Disliked We had to leave one day early due to strong winds and rain that it ripped our tent and two other tents
And no one prepared us for the weather there so had to go home and today requested a full refund of our tent
So we had to leave early and that was the heartbreak

Liked Beautiful location with plenty of space. Relaxed atmosphere.

Disliked Facilities were poor and needing some investment. One sink for washing up with very little hot water. One drinking tap right next to cows/dung...off-putting.

Liked Liked the size of the pitches and plenty to choose from.
The toilet/showering facilities, very clean and everything you need.
The gentleman who greeted us when we arrived, very friendly and helpful.

Disliked It’s not a ‘dislike’ but I feel the only thing we could class as a negative is not enough showers for the amount of people there.

Local attractions

When it comes to beaches, you can take your pick of a fair few. Sandy Porth Towyn Tudweiliog (five minutes’ drive) is something of a local secret, while Porth Ysgaden (10 minutes) is popular for paddleboarding and snorkelling around its craggy bay. You can take the kids rock pooling on the expanse at Traeth Penllech (15 minutes), or swim in shallow waters off the sweeping crescent at Porth Neigwl (20 minutes). All the climbing, hiking and cycling opportunities in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park are but 45 minutes’ drive away (the summit of Sundown can be spotted from the camping fields), but if the kids get fractious on car journeys, there are also family-friendly walks and bike rides to be had closer to home base in untamed Llŷn National Landscape (15 minutes). Take a deep dive into the history of North Wales with a visit to one (or indeed, all) of the landmark castles at Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Penrhyn, Cricceith or Harlech (all within an hour’s dive). After all that culture, reward the kids with an afternoon splashing around on the inflatable climbing course at Glasfryn Parc (25 minutes).
