  • Site on a vegetable farm five miles from Eryri (Snowdonia)
  • A 15-minute drive to Llanberis for a trail to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)
  • A sheltered field with access to a small forest; farm shop on site
Begin your adventures in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) and Ynys Mon (Anglesey) at Tyddyn Teg Campsite. Based on a regenerative vegetable farm, the site is just five miles from the edge of Eryri National Park. The farm is in the capable hands of a cooperative, and they’ve made one of the fields available for guests to sit back, relax and take full advantage of the peaceful surroundings of the farm and woodland. It's a family-friendly site, next door to a little forest which is kept as untouched wildland and has a small path through to oak trees and a stream. Handily, events are often organised by the site, and if you also envisage your future self tucking into some lovely locally-sourced food, this is the spot for it too. The farm shop is open to guests, and sells freshly harvested products, products from other local producers and organic products from further afield. For an evening out at the pub or a takeaway, just make your way to the nearby villages within five minutes’ drive of the farm. There’s no forgetting about Eryri National Park, of course. It’s a 15-minute drive from the farm to Llanberis village, where a nine-mile path begins up to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). The next day, prop those well-exercised feet up on Dinas Dinlle beach, 20 minutes’ drive away.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked Very well thought out campsite and well equipped. I stayed in a Bell tent which was really comfortable and was as close to home luxury as you can get in a tent. The site has toilets, brilliant showers, well equipped communal kitchen and a well stocked shop selling local products at a fair price.

Each plot is spacious and layed out so you all have your private space but you can come together at a site campfire or in the kitchen.

Disliked Nothing to dislike even if I was to be very picky. Will be back next year if not sooner.

Primitive grass tent campsite (four person)

Liked Great quiet campsite, only 10 pitches with wildflower meadow inbetween each meaning some privacy and nobody constantly walking near your tent. Very friendly atmosphere and attracts other campers that enjoy the chilled friendly vibe. The staff were so nice and chatty, Dafydd is lovely - they go out of their way to make sure you're ok and go above and beyond to help you out, they also have great local knowledge if you don't know the area that well.

Great kitchen with fab, clean facilities (although the freezer is not very cold for the ice packs). Because there's only 10 pitches it doesnt get too busy and theres plenty of space.

2 toilets and 2 showers, showers are fantastic and really clean and creatively done. Composting toilets were fairly clean and great idea but some people really struggled to use them properly despite the clear instructions so they could be a bit stinky by the end of the day.

Location wise this place is faultless. So close to the centre of Eryri, the llŷn peninsula and anglesey. 15 minute bike ride or less than 10 mins in the car into Llanberis. Just off the bypass and super easy to find.

The on site farm shop is full of stuff produced on site and is self service and doesn't seem to close. Also a good range of organic essentials and the homemade bread is delicious.

100% will come again

Disliked Some people struggled with the toilets but not really the campsites fault!

Primitive grass tent campsite (ten person)

Liked This campsite is perfection!
Each pitch is a great size, tucked away in your own little wilderness spot, with nothing but the sounds of the birds to enjoy.
The manager Dafydd is nothing short of incredible and cannot do enough to help you with absolutely anything. He is a real asset to the site.
The farm shop has more fresh produce than you can dream of and the facilities in the kitchen area are more than I’ve seen on some larger sites, nevermind one so delightfully small.
The location was great and only a short drive from Snowdon, Aber Falls and Llanberis, all of which we visited whilst we were there.
We loved our stay here and would highly recommend Tyddyn Teg to anyone looking to camp in North Wales.

From the manager: Hi Grace, lovely to meet you both, and thanks for the kind review! We're really pleased to hear you had such an enjoyable stay here at the farm, and in exploring the surrounding area. Hopefully see you again someday!

One of the best greener campsites we’d stayed on. Well organised.

Primitive grass tent campsite (four person)

Liked Spacious pitches. Kitchen for campers with plug sockets. Fridge/freezer and cooking facilities. Showers were fantastic. Surrounded by birds. Saw many id never seen before. Had a cheeky robin visit regularly.
Farm shop with honesty box and card machine. Take what you need and pay for it. Veg was delicious. Had a sneaky bar of chocolate (dont tell the wife). Less than 6 miles from most major centres (Bangor, Carnarfon, Llanberis) easy to get to and

Disliked Not a lot. If i had to moan, i didnt like the car park. But it wasnt that bad. :-)

From the manager: Hi Andrew, thanks very much for the review. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, the facilities, the shop, and the local area - and the birdlife!

And thanks for the feedback on our car park - it's been newly expanded for this season, but we're continuing to work on and improve it over time.

Local attractions

The Menai Bridge (15 minutes’ drive) is your gateway to Ynys Mon (Anglesey), with its wild coves and ancient historic sites. Beaumaris (25 minutes) is especially beckoning for those who like history, as it has a 13th-century moated castle and Victorian punishment cells. Bangor (15 minutes), just after the Menai Bridge, has its fair share of history too. Cathedral, castle, museum – tick, tick, tick. Further on, sample the gins and whiskies of the Aber Falls Distillery (15 minutes). Of course, you may very well want to fit in a trip to Caernarfon Castle (10 minutes) when you’re so close by. Placed on the banks of the river Seiont, the castle is a prominent castle from the Middle Ages (and of course, the cafés and shops of Caernarfon are sure to look very inviting after you’ve finished touring it).
