Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The location of the site was tranquil. We pitched our camper on the grass and was most comfortable. Short walk to toilet/shower block. Mike and Tammy were most obliging. 15 min walk to village pub and shop. Loved driving around Shropshire hills and enjoyed walk along Llangollen canal. Very enjoyable stay.

Disliked: Nothing really. Toilet facilities quite small for a busy site [May BH].

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (riverside)

Liked: Site location is easy to find and the narrow entrance is best approached from Chirk direction.
Located in a beautiful , peaceful, tree lined valley, the major sound is the rush of the adjacent river.
Check in with the friendly and welcoming staff was straight forward.
Gravel pitches next to the river have a bit of a slope on them, so levellers at the ready!
Even over Easter the touring site wasn't overly busy, but with no facilities for kids, other than playing in the river, it seems more suited to couples interested in walking or other outdoor activities or as a base for visiting local places of interest.
Facilities covered the essentials and were generally clean and well maintained.
Free WiFi worked well.

Disliked: Nothing

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen. More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site. Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
