  • Simple camping pod on a farm five minutes' drive from Abergele
  • Llandudno, St Asaph and Eryri walks within a half-hour drive
  • Peaceful spot overlooking a pond and with views to the hills
If a trip to North Wales for you means beaches, castles and splendidly scenic walks, you should be pretty pleased with the setting of Glamping Ganol. The camping pod at this quiet little spot is part of a farm tucked away in the countryside about five minutes' drive from Abergele. That location, overlooking a serene pond and with views to the hills beyond, is a fabulous one for chilling out in pretty surroundings, gazing out at the greenery with a glass of wine in hand or listening to the birds sing as you sip your morning coffee. It’s equally excellent by night too, as the dark skies often bring great stargazing for guests. And while this remote-feeling location is a fabulous one for chilling out, it’s also a very handy one for getting out and about. Head north and you’ll get to the coast with around a 10-minute drive, or aim west for the hills of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in about half an hour. In between, all sorts of historic towns, castles and rural walks are ready to fill some more of your time. Back at base you’ll be staying in a simple but functional pod with a proper bed (with bedding provided), heating and a kettle and microwave to help you prep hot drinks and easy meals. There’s outdoor seating just outside the pod, or you can head to the shared picnic area. Toilet and shower facilities are in a shared space close to the pod (please note you’ll need to bring your own towels).

Camping pod

Liked: With the look of something from the Hobbit, this glamping pod is located in the most peaceful and scenic location with nothing to do but sit and watch the world go by whilst listening to the birds. It has everything you could need from wall heater that is superb, kettle, microwave with cups, glasses, plates and cutlery, we were even welcomed with two large towels and a tea towel. The bed is super comfy and I can honestly say we had a fantastic nights sleep. The washroom, toilets and shower is just a walk passed the horses field and has plenty of hot water and although basic has everything you could need. I almost don’t want to write this glowing review because I want it to be my secret place! I would definitely recommend this place and WILL be back again soon hopefully!

Disliked: Bugs, but hey it’s their environment so let’s all live together!
