What customers say
Quiet riverside spot with great views & spotless facilities (free tea/coffee!). Plenty of flat pitches with river access. Friendly, helpful hosts. Some guests found unexpected shower charges and far-off water taps. Occasional road noise.

Love this precious site. Gotta go back.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Just about everything. The lady running the show is lovely. Works hard to keep it tip top shape. View of the river and hills is marvellous at sunset.
Disliked Some campers just do not respect the beauty of the place, leaving rubbish on the ground. Sadly the Asian family in question were not respecting the other campers. Loud and very messy, even camped over the access to the river.

If booking for fishing 🎣 this isn't the site
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Location is beautiful. Yes at night there is the odd sound of vehicles but the sound of the river makes up for that. Facilities were clean and stocked with soap and toilet roll
Disliked Feel the description is not the reality especially if choosing the site to fish. The river is very low making fishing almost impossible. There are 3 designated walk downs on the bank to fish close to the river but only with enough space for 1 man standing. The rest of the bank is so overgrown that if it was better maintained people would be able to utilise the space more.
Whilst there is toilet facilities the only access is back on onto the main path/ road not ideal in the dark.
The are 2 toilets and 2 shower/ toilets. However there is an additional charge for having a shower which was not disclosed on booking or on checking in which is not ok .
Also there was often long queues for using facilities
Whilst its not a huge area to camp it felt more enclosed by everyone hoping to be close to the river to fish which as stated was almost impossible.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Stunning well maintained campsite, with basic facilities. Pretty flat and on the river bank, with direct acccess into the river for kayaks etc. No probs having bbqs, fire pit etc, and could park car on your pitch.
Free tea, coffee, milk, fridge, freezer and power sockets in the small utility area
Disliked Site is larger than described, and although there was still lots of room, while we were there there was a group of approx 25-30 teenagers, all well behaved, but it did put pressure on the 2 toilets that are available, especially when in addition to the approx 10 campervans and numerous tents that were also pitched.
£2 charge for a shower which wasn’t mentioned anywhere on site description.
We chose to camp in the far camping field so as to be away from the large group, which meant a bit of a walk to the toilets etc (not a problem) but could of done with a water tap and bins in this field.
