  • Family- and dog-friendly site 20 minutes’ drive from Cardigan Bay
  • A 15-minute drive from the Ceredigion Coast Path at New Quay
  • Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park both within an hour's drive
Coastal walks with your best (canine) pal, dolphin-spotting boat tours and lengthy beach days… might you fancy saying a big yes please to all that? At Gellie Camping, a small family-run and family-friendly place just under a mile from the village of Plwmp in Ceredigion, West Wales, it’s all within easy reach. Gellie Camping is a top spot for anyone who wants to explore the Welsh coastline, with the Ceredigion Coast Path and its stunning views over Cardigan Bay passing less than 15 minutes’ drive from the site. If you’re not the walking type, you can see the coastline from a different angle with a boat trip around the bay (keep an eye out for dolphins), or stay active on site with a game of volleyball or a kickabout on the football pitch. Barbecues and campfires are allowed at the site, so fire one up (stacked high with goodies from the shop less than five minutes away), or enjoy the spoils around the other; washing-up facilities are on site whichever you pick. Prefer to take a break from cooking (and cleaning)? Plenty of restaurants to try are within 15 minutes of Gellie Camping.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Gellie Camping is a lovely site; beautifully looked after and with plenty of space.

There are plentiful separate men's and women's showers (so we didn't have to queue or wait around), plenty of loos, a washing-up room and a field where you can play sports if you feel like it!

It's close to many beautiful beaches and set in a peaceful, rural area.

We had a really nice stay and hope to return soon.

Disliked You can hear traffic a little bit on the nearby road, but not enough to bother us.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Friendly staff. Close drive to seaside towns/pubs. Decent ablutions and washing up facilities. Fire pit available on site to rent at a decent price. Nice peaceful location. Excellent price per night.

Disliked Uneven/hilly pitch. Grass hadn’t been collected when cut which meant clumps of grass stuck to everything while camping. On site tuck shop wasn’t open despite advertised on the website.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked We liked the relaxed nature of the site, the children enjoyed playing in the field and surrounding trees. Also lovely to see the horses in the next field.

The site was clean and tidy. Also we loved how the camping fields were surrounded by wild areas and meadows, it felt like a nature friendly site.

They also had a sports field where the kids and adults could play football.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Mostly quiet spot, easy to get to (just off the A487) bargain price especially with toilets, showers, washing up area and recycling! All for £8 per night. What’s not to like?

Disliked A bit busy on the first night but that was because the site hosts young campers, big groups. This is how they can offer such a low price to the rest of us.
