  • Peaceful coastal campsite with a private path down to the beach
  • New Quay and Aberaeron 10 minutes' drive; Cardigan 30 minutes
  • Sea views on site; dog-friendly pitches
Carreg y Gwynt Caravan and Camping is a peaceful coastal site in Ceredigion with far-reaching views over the sea and a private path down to the nearest beach. Just a few minutes' stroll from Cei Bach beach near Llanarth, this spot is sandwiched between the popular seaside resorts of New Quay and Aberaeron, both of which can be reached within a 10-minute journey by road. This site is located on a working farm, with spacious, flat and level pitches in a green and grassy field. Carreg y Gwynt Caravan and Camping is, on the whole, geared towards families, meaning large groups and people wanting to hold parties will need to look elsewhere. Facilities include drinking water, recycling bins, chemical waste disposal and two toilets, but please note that this site has no on-site shower facilities. There is also a stainless steel sink and a double drainer for washing up dishes (it has cold water and no shelter). After exploring the cove at Cei Bach, you can head out directly from site for adventures further afield along the Ceredigion Coast Path. That's all welcome news for fans of cross-country walking, and even better news for any dogs you're planning to bring along for a stay in this spectacular part of Mid Wales.

What customers say

This "back to basics" campsite boasts stunning sea and country views, lauded for its peaceful vibe and natural beauty. Hosts are exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering local tips and flexibility. Facilities, though simple, are clean and well-kept. The steep, occasionally muddy walk to the beach is deemed worthwhile by many. Some found signage could improve; a few noted wind noise. Recommended for a quiet getaway.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked A beautiful, quiet spot for a camp and reasonably priced. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The field has a lovely sea view, with basic but clean amenities; all you need, without fuss and we got to watch the cows come in for milking 🙂. There is nearby access to a lovely stretch of beach; getting there is fine but a bit of an uphill return. The site is a perfect base for exploring New Quay, Aberystwyth and the surrounding area. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll definitely be back.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Exactly as described, a very lovely 'back to basics' site with great views. The walk down to the beach is fine (about half an hour and quite steep, you can walk to the next bay and back on the coastpath)

Disliked It might seem a little pricey as the facilities are basic but it's all you need and well cared for.
