Canvas and Campfires is a glamping site in the grounds of a 19th-century smallholding just outside the small village of Llanwnnen. It's three miles from the market town of Lampeter and you can drive to the Cardigan Bay coast in around 15 minutes. Your neighbours on the farm will include a variety of animals, including a small flock of rare breed badger-faced sheep. You may well also spot some of the local bird life – look out for woodpeckers and goldfinches in the trees and red kites and buzzards overhead. The safari tents have been set up in a peaceful meadow with lovely views over the wooded valley below. Each one is furnished with proper beds, comfortable sofas and a woodburning stove, and has its own kitchen and small bathroom with sink and flushing toilet. There's a shower block a short walk away within the same field. The site has a small honesty shop selling useful bits and pieces, including marshmallows to toast on your campfire. For other food and drinks, there's a couple of supermarkets in Lampeter along with a range of options for eating out, including restaurants, pubs, cafés and an award-winning ice cream shop. There's also a pub within walking distance, in the village of Llanwnnen.
