  • Ceredigion farm site with spectacular views over the Teifi Estuary
  • A mile and a half from Cardigan; Poppit Sands 15 minutes' drive
  • Simple pitches with campfires permitted; easy access to the coast path
Coming to Ceredigion for the coast views, the sense of space and peace or perhaps the tasty dining options of lively Cardigan? Trebared Farm is a place that’s got all three sewn up – this friendly farm campsite is in a scenic coastal spot with stunning views over the Teifi Estuary, and yet it’s only about a mile and a half from all the action of Cardigan town centre. That location puts you within easy reach (a five-minute drive or half-hour walk) of the town’s castle, pubs, restaurants and shops so it shouldn’t be tricky to keep yourselves fed and watered while you’re here. Barbecues and campfires are permitted, so perhaps you’d like to pick up supplies for alfresco cooking and fireside drinks while you’re there. Those outdoor evenings are particularly recommended in such a lovely location – the views here are truly spectacular, with far-reaching coastal vistas extending over such spots as St Dogmaels, Cemaes Head, Poppit Sands and Gwbert. And as it’s west-facing you’ll often get a stunning sunset as a backdrop as well. Being able to spot those places from your pitch should tip you off that it’s easy to get out and explore – perhaps heading out on the Ceredigion Coast Path to Gwbert or taking the 10-minute drive to St Dogmaels for a dolphin-spotting boat trip. Back at base, it’s a simple setup to preserve the peaceful atmosphere. The essentials are covered though, with portable toilets, showers, running water and a chemical disposal point available.

What customers say

This no-frills site boasts stunning Cardigan Bay views. Guests loved the friendly hosts and peaceful, spacious grounds. Facilities are clean, including portable toilets and a warm shower. While praised for its simplicity and location, some noted it's exposed and windy. Signage is minimal, but the owner gives great directions. Despite basic amenities, it's excellent value, with many planning to return.

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked I loved the site, one of the most beautiful views I've ever had on a campsite. Waking to the sound of geese taking off from the estuary, minutes walk to the Coast Path and down to the water.
Loos were decent and a nice shower cabin, tap for drinking water. All you need.

Dai was so kind and welcoming, I'd hiked up to the site and was knackered when I got there. He brought me a spare camping chair to use over the weekend and showed me the shortcuts to walking routes and town, very thoughtful and generous host.

Disliked That the shower had various technical difficulties over the weekend so didn't manage a hot shower.

Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite

Liked The view is amazing. Owners are very friendly and come over to check if you need fire wood etc. One shower on site which was lovely and warm. Two toilets which were kept clean. Local Town is a 20 minute walk down one straight path and the beach is very close 10-15 min drive. Would definitely go back just so peaceful

Liked Good communication with video sent showing how to access the site. tidy field with great views over cardigan bay, walked down in morning to cardigan and then over to Gwbert for lunch.

no stress with arrival and leaving times which meant i had time in morning for a walk prior to leaving, although i did move van off pitch in case someone else wanted it
Dai and wife walked past at night for a chat
really easy , friend and good value site, will defiantly come again next year

Disliked shame it can only be open for a month

Local attractions

The Ceredigion coast is full of fabulous scenery, whether you’d like a long walk or a relaxing beach day. For the former, you can pick up the coast path a short stroll from the site or head off to other nearby sections – the stretch from Newport (20 minutes’ drive) to Cwm-yr-Eglwys is a particularly nice one. As for beaches, places like Poppit Sands (15 minutes), Mwnt (15 minutes) and Tresaith (20 minutes) are well worth checking out. There are dolphin-spotting boat trips from both St Dogmaels (10 minutes) and New Quay (35 minutes), and you can learn more about local wildlife and other beasts at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park (10 minutes) or the Welsh Wildlife Centre (15 minutes). To dip into the area’s heritage, start at Cardigan Castle (five minutes), continuously occupied since 1110, before moving on to Cilgerran Castle (15 minutes) and Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber (25 minutes). The National Coracle Centre At Cenarth Falls (25 minutes) is another option for something a bit different.
