  • Spacious farm site by the coast 10 minutes' drive from Aberteifi
  • Easy access to Ceredigion Coast Path; 20 minutes' walk from Mwnt beach
  • Sea views and private cove for spotting dolphins and birds
Care to head to Ceredigion, for coastal walks, crowd-free beaches, castles… maybe even catching a glimpse of a passing pod of dolphins? What a cracking idea. And an even more cracking idea is nabbing a few days at Nant-y-croi, on the coast between Aberteifi and Aberporth. If it's easy access to the coast you’re after, you’re in the right place: the Ceredigion Coast Path crosses the farm, for an easy meander to Mwnt beach, 20 minutes away. Even before you set forth for that stroll there are super sea views to be had from the site; gaze out towards the waves for a while and you may well spot the seals, dolphins and seabirds that often pass by these parts. This is a properly peaceful place, but niftily also within easy reach of plenty of ways to fill your West Wales days: more beaches, boat trips, canoeing, golf are all nearby, and you’re well placed for outings to Cilgerran Castle, Cenarth Falls and lots of other scenic spots. For eats, you’re welcome to light up a sea-view barbecue; pick up supplies 10 minutes away in Aberteifi and stash them in the fridge-freezer until it’s coals o’clock. Other amenities on site include a washing-up area, launderette and toilets and showers.

What customers say

This campsite boasts stunning ocean views, direct coastal path access, and a peaceful, rural vibe on a working farm. Guests rave about the friendly owners, clean restrooms, and spacious sites. Dolphin and seal sightings are a major plus. While WiFi is spotty & some facilities are dated, most praise its natural beauty and calm.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The views were amazing. Toilets kept clean. The owners were lovely.
Allow a bit of extra time to fill your water tank as the water pressure is a bit low, but who’s in a hurry!
Is a bit exposed so it can get a bit windy up there.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked What a find !!
If you want stunning views beautiful walks
Quiet and peaceful this is the place for you !!
I wanted to feel like I was alone and remote and that’s what I got yet at the same time I felt safe and could’ve parked up nearer the facilities if needed
We didn’t mind the walk to showers it was a small price to pay as our view was stunning
All facilities were clean
WiFi accessible at top of site but as we chose to be at bottom of second field we had none but that didn’t bother us
We had a non electric grass pitch but electric hook ups are available in top field
Also the welcome was so friendly
This campsite is an absolute gem

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Beautiful location with incredible views. Plenty of space to pitch across huge fields.
Very clean facilities and power showers.

Disliked It is a very long walk to toilets and showers if you're at the last field. However, I cannot complain as this was our choise.
There was plenty of space in other fields closer to the facilities.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Absolutely EVERYTHING! Gorgeous campsite! We stayed on the non electric tent pitches on field 3 and wow wow wow. Unbelievable sea views and we saw dolphins every single day from our tent. Facilities were spotless, the best facilities we’ve used (we’ve stayed at a lot of campsites). Shower was hot and powerful! Access to the coastal path is only a short walk through the field - can’t fault this site one bit. We will be back asap! Wifi was a big bonus too - it didn’t quite reach our field but this wasn’t a problem at all.

Disliked Absolutely nothing.

Local attractions

Mwnt’s your nearest beach (and mighty lovely it is too), but it’s far from the only sandy stretch worth a visit locally. Also on your list should be Tresaith (20 minutes’ drive), Aberporth (20 minutes), Poppit Sands (25 minutes) and Llangrannog (half an hour). Should you be seeking a bit of exercise along with your sea views, there’s a golf course 10 minutes’ drive away, or you can head into Aberteifi for all sorts of aquatic activity, including surf lessons, sea kayak tours, serene days of paddleboarding or adrenaline-packed coasteering adventures. If you’ve not managed to spot dolphins from the site, you may have more luck on a boat trip from New Quay (40 minutes). Guaranteed sightings of friendly farm animals are five minutes’ drive away at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park; they’re even friendlier if you feed them. Seals can often be seen basking on the shore here, too. Away from the coast, it’ll take you 20 minutes or so to drive to 13th-century Cilgerran Castle, the Welsh Wildlife Centre and the National Coracle Centre at Cenarth Falls.
