  • Small, friendly family-run Ceredigion site two miles from Aberaeron
  • A 10-minute drive to New Quay; walk to the Ceredigion Coast Path
  • Sea views and stunning sunsets on site; dogs and kids welcome
Sea views, stunning sunsets, stacks of space and a splendidly relaxed vibe… what more could you want from a Ceredigion campsite? (If the answer’s ‘somewhere we can take the dogs and kids’, then you’ll be pleased to hear they’re both most welcome here.) Garth View is a place that’s got all of the above – this small family-run site looks out over a lovely valley with the sea in the distance, and it prides itself on offering a warm Welsh welcome to its guests. It’s a no-fuss setup here, favouring simple pleasures over lots of facilities, but it's possible to hire firepits and freeze ice packs and you'll have access to a converted container that houses two bathrooms (including hot-water showers, sinks and toilets), as well as two single toilets and separate washing area. The location here is a real winner too: Garth View is easily accessed from the A487, and it’s within walking distance of the Ceredigion Coast Path. The harbour town of Aberaeron, only two miles away, has plenty of places to eat. A 200-year-old pub which is dog-friendly and serves homecooked food is a 10-minute walk away too. The Moody Calf Play Barn, a venue with a play barn, farm shop, bistro, trampoline, foam pit and events venue is a 20-minute walk away. If you'd rather self cater, a couple of convenience stores are about five minutes’ walk away. The local launderette is a 10-minute walk away. Lots of the best-loved spots along the West Wales coast are within easy reach for days out: it’s a 10-minute drive to New Quay for wildlife-spotting boat trips or half an hour to Cardigan, a hub for watersports and other outdoorsy activities. The beaches of Llangrannog and Tresaith are about 20 minutes away, or you can venture a little further to Aberporth (25 minutes) or Mwnt (35 minutes). For a bigger town, head north to Aberystwyth in just over half an hour.

Irma camping pod

Liked Cabin was super cozy, warm and clean. Even when it was raining and windy both me and my partner had a really peaceful nights sleep. The toilets and showers were really lovely as well. It was very easy to contact Giovanna when needed and I got a quick response and she was lovely! Could not recommend more and will definitely be returning. The firepit was one of our favourites parts with the ability to purchase wood, firefighters, kindling etc on site was also a wonderful feature if needed.

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a lovely review! I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Garth view and look forward to welcoming you back again! Best Giovanna

Irma camping pod

Liked Owners reached out before our stay and gave us an update, Quite site, with all amenities we'll maintained, really clean modern shower and toilets. Didn't use them however lots of fridges free to use as well as microwave and kettle. It was nice to get into the pod after a 6 hour motorbike ride in the hammering wind.

From the manager: I am really grateful and appreciate you taking the time to share your rating on your stay at Garth View. Thank you so much and I hope to see you again, Best Giovanna.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Beautiful kept site . Facilities are well looked after and very clean . We were welcomed by the owner and her son with a very friendly and warm attitude . Nothing was too much trouble . Well informed outhouse with local information . This site will go far and should be a winner to all who stay . Lucky enough to experience the amazing sunsets . Great base to explore mid Wales coast.
We hope to visit again in the future .

Primitive grass campsite

Liked We had a gorgeous stay at Garth View campsite and the host Giovanna was so lovely and welcoming! We stayed for a long weekend and both camped and used the glamping pod which felt very luxurious. The sunset over the sea at night and you can see the stars on a clear night 🌟 the facilities were great, hot showers and communal fridge / freezer was a huge plus and made our stay very comfortable 😊

From the manager: Such lovely feedback, thank you and for taking the time to write such kind words! I am thrilled to hear Garth View made a good impression on you. I hope you’ll visit us again soon.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked really nice facilities, which made our stay very comfortable. apart of spacious shower rooms, which were modern and clean, there is also a honesty shop. A real bonus was the charging point and microwave.

we had fantastic stay.

Disliked the only dislike was the distance to the main road. A bit too close

From the manager: I am so grateful that you took the time to leave us a fabulous review and you enjoyed your stay at Garth View. Thank you so much!

There are two entrances. If travelling north, the first entrance to the main house (Garthwynnog) is on the right on a sharp bend, next door to a bed & breakfast (Merwerydd). The second entrance is 100 yards further up on the right, taking you into the field entrance which is directly opposite Deicin Stud (look for a milk stand at the top of their entrance). If travelling south, look for the entrances on the left instead.

Local attractions

There are heaps of beaches around here to keep you busy for days on end, but you’ll also have plenty of choice if you want to mix things up a bit. You could start with a trip to the John Nash-designed villa and extensive estate at Llanerchaeron (10 minutes’ drive) or a stroll along the pretty trails of Cae Hir Gardens (20 minutes). For a wilder time, head to Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest (45 minutes) for walks and red kite feeding or head to Devil’s Bridge Falls (45 minutes) to see water cascading into a deep gorge. You can also get there with a ride on the Vale of Rheidol Railway (half an hour). Damp days? Meet local creatures at Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre (10 minutes), surround yourselves with engines of all sorts at the Internal Fire Museum of Power (20 minutes) or take a trip underground at Silver Mountain Experience (50 minutes).
