  • Rural holiday park five minutes' drive from a pub and café in Fintry
  • Scenic Campsie Hills views; half an hour's drive from Loch Lomond
  • Heated covered swimming pool, adventure playground, bar and bistro
The folk at Campsie Glen Holiday Park presumably didn't have to think too hard when it came to naming their Stirlingshire site – the gorgeous views out over the Campsie Hills were inspiration enough for this friendly rural spot five minutes' drive from Fintry. Stays here can be as action-packed or as relaxed as you wish: the surrounding area has heaps to fill your days with, including castles, whisky distilleries and scenic seaplane flights. Golf courses, horse riding, fishing, watersports and other outdoorsy pursuits are all within a half-hour drive, as are scenic rambles or bike rides in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. If you’re leaning more towards the relaxed end of proceedings, you’ll probably want to factor in a leisurely hour or few in the heated, covered swimming pool and hot tub (open through high season only). Busy days or chilled ones can both be followed by a bit of lounging in the site’s lounge bar and bistro (opening times vary according to season), tapping your toes to live music if you're in on a summer Saturday night… Kids who require a bit more activity can be entertained at the kids’ pool and adventure playground. And if you've brought your dog along on holiday, there's space for them too: a dog walk/exercise area on site as well as plenty of lovely walks by (or quite possibly in, if they're keen splashers) Endrick Water river, which runs just past the park.

What customers say

This park boasts lovely grounds and helpful staff. Guests rave about the spotless facilities, including restrooms and showers. The on-site pub and restaurant are a hit, though some mention seasonal closures. While most found it peaceful and well-kept, a few noted occasional noise, maintenance issues, or broken amenities. Management seems responsive to feedback.

Liked Great sized pitches. Beautiful park that is well maintained and has beautiful riverside walks. All staff very welcoming and helpful. Visited the onsite bar for dinner a couple of times. Food was delicious. Staff very friendly too.
Bonus having a pool.

Disliked My only negative is the distance to supermarket and shops. However this wouldn't put us off going back.

Liked Everything was great.

Disliked Entertainment good but very loud and went in a long time. Not really what we were there for but everyone seemed to be having fun. We are just the grumps I guess

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback- we’re really glad to hear you enjoyed your overall experience with us!

We appreciate your comments about the entertainment as well. We aim to create a lively atmosphere, but we understand it may not suit everyone’s preferences, especially if you were hoping for something a bit more low-key. Your perspective is valuable, and we’ll pass this on to the Bar & Bistro.

We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Liked We stayed on a very spacious fully serviced pitch for 3 nights over a weekend. Two shower blocks available. Very clean. Great showers. Great clubhouse. Entertainment was on for the Saturday that we stayed. Great for children with a play area and a children's games area in the clubhouse. Very resonably priced food. Ideally placed for a good walk into the hills.

Disliked Nothing.

From the manager: Thank you, Stephen, for such a detailed and positive review!

We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your spacious serviced pitch and made good use of the facilities during your stay. It’s great to know the shower blocks, clubhouse, entertainment, and family-friendly areas all added to your experience and that you found the food reasonably priced as well-we will pass this on to the Bar & Bistro.

We’re also pleased the location worked well for your walks into the hills- that’s one of our favourite things about the area too!

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and hope to welcome you back again soon.

Liked The camp itself wasn’t too big so it felt safe as a single parent traveller. Friendly staff and nightly entertainment was good. Quiet location and peaceful at night, although I’d imagine it could get noisy in peak season, just like anywhere else.
It has a river only a minute or two walk from the site and lots of people were fishing.
It has a small swimming pool which is £3 to use.

Disliked Only two showers in the toilet block. We were fine but peak season would be a different matter.

No WiFi at touring pitch

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand your comments regarding the number of showers in the toilet block. We would like to mention that we do also have an additional shower block available just a short walk away for guests to use.
We also appreciate your feedback regarding the WiFi at the touring pitch and will take your comments on board as we continue to improve our facilities.
We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
Best Wishes,
Campsie Glen Team

Local attractions

As already mentioned, there's a whole heap of antics to keep you busy in these scenic surrounds, but before you scurry off excitedly it’s worth having a chat with the reception team, as they’ve negotiated a fair number of handy discounts at local attractions. Those who’ve come to this part to Scotland to stretch their muscles can tee off at a golf course 15 minutes’ drive away, saddle up for horse rides (25 minutes), clamber along the treetop courses at Go Ape Aberfoyle (half an hour) or sign up for canyoning and quad biking (25 minutes). Gentle canoe paddles on Loch Lomond can be had from Balloch (40 minutes), also home to the Sea Life Loch Lomond Aquarium and the departure point for scenery-snapping seaplane flights. Sticking to more leisurely pursuits? Slope off to Stirling (25 minutes) to see the castle, Wallace monument and aptly-named Old Bridge, which is said to have survived since the 15th century. Hanging out with the birds of prey at Strathblane Falconry (half an hour) is another fab choice, as of course is a dram or two at Glengoyne Distillery (25 minutes).
