Loch katrine

  • Hardstanding motorhome pitches in the Trossachs Pier car park
  • On the banks of Loch Katrine with direct access to the Trossachs Trail
  • Next to a café and departure point for loch cruises
Somewhere scenic to park your motorhome in Stirlingshire? Take a look at the touring pitches at Trossachs Pier – this location is in a fabulous spot right on the banks of Loch Katrine and in one of the UK’s largest National Nature Reserves, the Great Trossachs Forest. Technically speaking, these pitches are in the pier’s car park, but there’s rather more to it than that, as you’ll have access to toilets and showers (for an extra charge), wifi and a café serving up breakfasts, lunches, hot drinks and the like. There’s also bike hire in the car park, and it’s the departure point for various passenger cruises. Boat trips run regularly through the day but the top pick for many visitors is a ride on the Sir Walter Scott steamship, which has sailed on the loch since 1900. Once you’ve explored the loch thoroughly, don’t plan to move on too quickly – this site is located on the 40-mile Trossachs Trail for walks and bike rides, and there’s plenty more to see and do around the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, whether you’re planning to bag a few Munros, go fishing, play golf or explore some of the area’s history.

What customers say

Beautiful Loch Katrine location, with stunning scenery & friendly staff. Clean site, good facilities (24hr toilets). Popular for walks/boat trips. Note: some unlevel pitches, paid showers, limited pm services & poor phone signal.

Power optional cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked A stunning location for an overnight stay. The women in the booking office were extremely pleasant and very helpful.
On site cafe made delicious food (we had pizzas at night and cooked breakfast next morning).
Facilities were ideal and once cafe and booking office were closed at 6ish, we virtually had the whole place to ourselves.
Would highly recommend 😎

Primitive cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked Absolutely beautiful spot told there was no electric hook ups but as usual that wasn’t true. Very officious lady yelled at us for parking in the wrong place not that there was anyone to say where to park. Then a very nice man appeared and started organizing the campers as they came in and very nicely found us an electric site. Thanks to him we didn’t leave with a nasty taste in our mouth but enjoyed our stay.

Disliked The lady

Liked Great location - loch Katrine and the surrounding area including mountains and hills are beautiful.
Plenty toilets. Access to cafe and bike hire
Helpful attendant

Disliked No shower
Some of pitches on slope - we moved to non serviced for this reason and because of a noisy group.
